That hotel is in a great location, though. The whole city is at your feet. It's so walkable and there's so much to see.

Yes. That’s why I booked it for our visit.
We were there for an AC/DC concert Saturday.
We came Thursday and got some good food and beer.
Mautkeller and Altes kuche restaurants is recommendable for classic German food as schweine haxe, nürnberg sausage and rotbier 😄

Love me some Nürnberg sausage and potato salad. I could eat that for lunch several times a week and be quite happy about it.

The Sierra is a wonderful part of our fine state. The Mammoth Lakes area is special; amazing hiking, backpacking, fishing, and of course skiiing.

I figure there must be some kind of geographic data encoded for each photo that LJ accesses. Or possibly a Magic 8-ball... Anyway, her skills in this thread are formidable!

No magic or trick, just research. Your picture showed part of the Crystal Crag which is a prominent and well known feature.

I think I saw a video about that stretch of track. Supposedly the longest straight stretch of track in the world. Somewhere in Australia.

Wrong continent.

The pictured train usually consists of one single passenger car, plus 200+ open hoppers. The passenger fare is FREE to anyone who wants to ride this train.....
