Over here in the Netherlands, registrations are public, and it has all details including model designations, first registration, first registration in the country, MOT validity, insured yes/no etc etc.

I can check it online or use an iOS app for it.

I wasn't aware it was that easy to get information. It's a good thing I had CD plates when I was there.
