Thumbs up

So after buying my first pair of ASICS several weeks ago, I have become a fan. Stylish, lightweight and comfortable. All traits I look for as a huge Sneakerhead!
So I decided to grag His & Hers Novablast:

I'm normally not a retro shoe kind of guy. But baby blue happens to be my favorite color....

Try the Kayano sneakers. Not sure the difference but they are my favorites. For everything running , walking and hanging. They are light, supportive and very stable. I’ve got a high arch and these help me a lot.

Depends if you walk/run supinated or pronated etc etc. Each line ASICS has is for something specific.

And imo? For walking as you suggested? The ultra boosts he mentions are much more comfortable for walking. When I'm running I'll wear my ASICS, if I'm walking I'll do the ultra boosts and specifically the 19's. Didn't care for the 20's or 21's. They're no longer hype enough to be fashionable in 22 but comfort is comfort, especially during working out.

I guess I have not fully gone down the rabbit hole on sneakers. Wore brooks and NB for years and was only so/so happy.

The ASICS Kayano have been great for running and walking. Perhaps I’ll try some Ultra Boosts next go round. I usually have 3 pairs going a once. My primary new runners for running only. My back up runners next newest as back up if others are wet/ sweaty or walking and my beaters for washing car and whatnot.

They slide down from the top. I’ve got about 2-3 beaters right now. Nothing too bad but near end of wear life.

What are good walking ultra boosts ? Specific model

Thanks

So all these again depends on your feet. It might do you some benefit to pop onto a running store. They usually have devices where you walk and they'll be able to tell you exactly what type of walker / runner you are and what type of sneaker would benefit you the most.

I'm pretty sure I'm a kayano as well. Which is a shoe designed for overpronation. Their nimbus like is more for neutral. Cumulus is for supination I believe and so on and so forth.

I prefer the Ultraboost 19 for walking. It's a narrower year of the shoe and it just fit right. I utilize lace locks on most of my sneakers and in the UB19? My feet don't move. Ultraboost 20/21 have much more plump and wider heels and while it's definitely more comfortable, me personally I didn't care for how much "bounce" I had in my step but some people like that. I also found the 20/21 to be too tight around the cage and laces - you can see on the 22 they changed where the laces go to minimize that too tight feel so I guess I wasn't the only one to complain. It all depends on your feet (narrow vs wide) and how your feet strike the ground with each step. Best to try them on or running store best bet. Some people still adore the Ultraboost 1.0/2.0 so adidas has been retro'ing them as well. I'll throw up some pics after this of some of my personal sneakers. I think the 22 and 22 are in Chicago.

Lastly, Salomon also makes a very comfortable sneaker and it is currently one of the "hypebeast" sneakers, meaning it's a "lifestyle" sneaker at the current moment, much like Ultraboosts were some years ago. Started off as a trail running sneaker, branched off to make one more lighter and comfortable and then wound up on the runways of Milan somehow. Anyways, that's another option in the event you wanna be hip and comfortable.

Pics are in order

Hey wtwo3 - I got these to get me through Chicago winters. They're made out of gore-Tex.

And then I got a taste of Chicago winter and haven't gone back since December. I literally wasn't kidding when I asked when it gets better you said end april / May. I'm not going back until May.

Those are nice!

Dude we get maybe 2 months of nice weather out of the year (basically, May and September). The rest of it is either too damn cold... rainy.... or too damn hot/humid. Why I continue to live in this shithole I have no idea.

Tale of two cities.

Jordan's for Chicago (made out of waterproof material)

Jordan's for Los Angeles (made out of flyknit so it's thinner, lighter and air can get through)

I got my schedule down now that I've experienced.

Arrive May. Leave by June
Return September. Leave by December
Return May again. Rinse repeat.

I picked these up in August of last year. The box was beat up so I complained and they sent me a new one. Yes, I'm that guy.

That's living the life.

I'd follow the same schedule but my wife and kids would probably hate me
