we probably wont see those numbers. because i dont think most of those people care. porsche isn't going to send a gt3 touring with steel brakes and sofa seats to a magazine for track testing... they're going to send the one with the big spoiler, ceramics and lightweight buckets.

I don't know that a copy of a retired car from years ago is exactly a compliment LOL. Technology and cars have moved on a lot since the 458 debuted

A bit pity that it is not available in Verde Mantis or similar. A screaming bright color would distract from the somewhat 'plain Jane' Ferrari knockoff look of the Z06. But otherwise a great car!!

I've driven a 458, so to me, this is a beautiful thing.

Well done, GM, well done

i agree. had one for 3 years.

NA > turbo. i'd take a z06 over any turbo exotic.

if they gave the z06 a manual i would definitely think about listing my gt3 for sale haha.

pts color options would slow down the production line too much. the c8 isn't going to be some low production car.

Man what a time to be a corvette fan! And it's only the 2nd variant!

So I really like the GT3 but even with the mark-ups on the Z06 not sure they are comparable. Since last I hear Gt3 are being marketed up $100k? if I could get a new GT3 for 200-225k I think that is for sure my next car.

when I start hitting $300k hard to not want to go Italian. At least once.

yeah i dont see the value either paying 300k for a new gt3 when its not all that different from the 991.2. same engine, same weight. all they did was add double wishbones and a spoiler with cup2r tires. none of that can be felt on the street.

just depends on if you want manual or not. if you do then porsche is the only option for a supercar. everyone else is paddles.

i think prices will eventually settle down but it will be a while.

I go back and forth on it. I like a manual for driving around but on the flip side the pdk in the 992 is incredible and I’ll keep my c7 z06 vette for the street.

Also as I look at adding a new car in another 5-6 years (more investments to make first to play for long term) I think I’d like to get into track days. My goal is to retire at 55 or so (maybe sooner) with the extra time the track days would be fun and the auto might be the way to go.

either way I’d struggle to pay 100k mark-up on the GT3. It just seems like you ar begging to end up in a bad way on the car. And once it hits Italian level pricing it’s hard not to want to look at it.

Nothing crazy. just real estate. All I’m doing is taking a portion of my income to buy real estate and replace w2 wages long term. Over the years it builds and in 5-6 years I’ll be in the spot I can get a fun car again (z06 was my gift to myself 2 years ago). And then by 54-57 retire.

Not exactly a complicated plan I just don’t want to have to do my job for the rest of my life. So far it pays for the mortgage, the cars, and some spending cash. But the intent is to just replace my w2 with it and like all investments it starts to snowball.

Absolute braking and skidpad numbers for the C8 across the board have been worse than the C7 trim for trim yet its significantly quicker in any sort of dynamic setting. This won't be any different.

In MT's Figure 8 test, their C8Z convertible with base tires and suspension(weighing in at almost 3,800lb) ran a 22.7 while the C7 Z06/Z07 auto with Cup2's and Level 3 aero ran a 22.6.

This car will disappear from an equally equipped C7Z in any sort of track setting.

Amen brother. We are on the same page. I have 11 rentals. I'm on the good side now which is great. Sucks early on but just need to stick with it.
