A friend of mine hates the idea of lawns, he sees it as unused farming potential. To him, a lawn is a boomer mentaility.

Some beans and a few left over zucchinis. I started to pluck the carrots.

With all the blooms on the vine, I only managed to get one single cucumber...
It didn't do great last year as well. Lots of Romaine lettuce though. |

For all the yard freaks, what are some turf-alternatives for yard space? My last house was the perfectly manicured lawn with deep green, stripes, clean edges, etc. Incredible amount of time and effort to keep up myself.
I now have property in N Georgia that we are building our house on. It is in the woods (hard wood) with a cleared space for the homesite. I'm not only not keen on having to keep up a yard like I did before, but there will be considerable shade from the tree coverage that will likely not be beneficial for turf. What are some alternative approaches that are clean? |

Plucked a few more carrots and a green bell pepper along with some Scotia tomatoes that fell off the vine and let them ripened on the window sill.
Care to guess what this is? |
