Nothing out right now that I could actually afford appeals to me. I mean theres plenty of cars that are kinda cool and interesting, but would I fork over the $$ for them? Nope.
I like my C7 and would have strongly considered a C8 if they offered it with a manual transmission. It's my fun car, I only take it out when I want to drive and I get great enjoyment from rowing through gears. If I tracked the car all the time then maybe I wouldn't mind the auto as I could get my kicks from all the other challenges of track driving. I've also considered just going the complete opposite direction and going for luxury with something like an S550 or a CT6. I guess I just don't drive enough to justify any of it so I'll be keeping my C7 for now. Most of the miles are put on my truck anyways and I don't really like any of the new trucks from Dodge and Chevy so. |

For me, it will be the Rivian R1T.

I'm so interested in seeing how Rivian pans out, they are really one of the only electric companies/startups that I'm really rooting for. I love the design and cool features that they are offering, hopefully they stay true to their release dates.

I have to say the Rivian has most of my attention at the moment too.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

I really can't find a new model car that I really have any interest in that I'd have tolerance for the financial commitment. All current sport sedans have 4-cylinder turbo's and automatic transmissions. Boring as all get out. BMWs turbo'd in-line 6's have no character as compared to any its prior naturally aspirated sixes. Lucky I've been able to acquire enough real BMW's to keep driving for the next decade or so.

The lower half of the body was carbon fiber so they literally "glued" it together. It really wasn't the same after that. |

Test drove a 2020 Accord sport today. I must say, I enjoy the way the vehicle drives. Nicely laid out interior, and I like the way it handles. Good steering feedback, quiet cabin, and a peppy engine. And best of all, it comes with conventional tires, and a SPARE tire. For around $25,000, the Accord Sport is a lot of car, with a sporty ride. Great value. I’m waiting for the mid cycle refresh! I’m hoping Honda changes the design of the rear tail lights. I’m always afraid to take my E90 far, yes, it has run flats, however, I never had that sense of security. I love my E90, and too bad current Bmw’s don’t drive like it. If I’m going to buy a 4 cylinder, turbo, I’m not spending over $45,000 on one. I’m holding on to my E90 for now, I’m just not sure for how long. I need new tires, and I’m going with non run flat Michelin Pilot Sport All Season. Now I have to buy a jack, air compressor, and a tire repair kit. It’s not something I want to do, and kinda annoying. Yes I have AAA, however, if I could repair my tire without waiting, I’ll do it. Again, I won’t be driving my car far. I’ve come to the conclusion that the BMW bug is out of my system.

An SUV of some sort. Really miss my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Next would be SRT GC, SRT Durango, the Rivian R1S has my attention, Lincoln Navi; just something big and comfy to daily, tow, and pick large items up in. Leaning more towards the FCA vehicles b/c launch control and ZF8.

Im currently driving a 2018 z06. Either the upcoming mid engine c8 z06 or a 4 series convertible if I dont want something fast because I have never had a convertible before and I live in south florida.

Im getting old and sensible...now I'm thinking about a 550 instead of an M5. M5's aren't quite what they used to be. My E60 M5 had a completely different engine trans, etc, the new M5 just kinda has a different tune (I know there is a lot more then that, but in traffic that stuff doesn't matter much).
I obviously still prefer the M5...I'm just not sure the difference in cost is worth it to me for my purposes. Getting old sucks. If I end up getting a 550 it will represent the first time I ever got the 'more sensible' alternative instead of the one that is objectively cooler. |

My next car will not be a BMW. Whatever it is, I will keep my e90 on the side.

Keeping
I drive Toyota Tacoma everyday. Wife could careless about what car she drives Honda CRV. I needed a fun car so bought a 2016 M235i. I really am liking and enjoy the drive when it gets out of garage. Never been much of a vette guy...but the new C8 has me intrigued. Probably wait another year but I am keeping one eye on how that car enters the car world.

I mean, c'mon it's a luxury sedan, nothing M about it. One of the other things that has made me dislike BMW. Slapping that M on everything. Just like the X5M or whatever they call it, GTFO with that shit! That being said I had a 550 for a while, an F10 I believe. I liked it, however it was certainly not a sports cars, but that's not what I bought it for. At that point I had a 2016 Camaro SS to get my jollies so it was fine. |
