So now that the 4 series coupe has been revealed after months of these type of photographs we can do it all over again with the 2 series.

Where do I find this interview/quote?
https://www.driving.co.uk/news/inter...ase-everybody/

"And so when you arrive, what was it you wanted to change?

DD: Being more brave with all the icons [BMW's traditional design details] we have. I mean you can see it now in the products, that we play with all the icons.

The Hoffmeister [the forward swoop or 'kink' at the base of the window on the rearmost pillar of BMWs], for example — until the G30 every 3 Series had almost the same window graphic. That meant that when you saw prototypes — when you saw a new BMW, it could be the previous model if you just looked at the top of the car. This was something I never understood.

In all these discussions about our icons, people say, 'But you can't change the Hoffmeister, you can't change the kidneys.' But who says so? Mr. Hoffmeister just made one window graphic."

The only link I could find but in other videos/articles as well he has spoken about changing historical elements and has talked about the Hoff kink being an insignificant detail elsewhere.
So the window line is going to be anywhere between Audi A5/Lexus Tongan old Chevy Monte Carlo SS...

whoever is designing the new 2,3,4 series needs to be fired.

someone needs to be hired who could build off of and enhance the F-Chassis exterior design, which I believe is peak BMW design.

with that being said, i think the interior designer is killing it.

i like the fat fenders.
hope this will be more E82 than F22, look wise.
i prefer the chubby look of my 135i than my M2C.

The size looks perfect. I always felt the 2 series was a tad too small and interior fairly cramped. This looks slightly larger and better proportioned which would make it about the size of the E46 coupe. Hopefully BMW give it a better quality interior, fit and finish than the current 2.

A smaller G series chassis paired with an S58 motor in RWD format sounds promising!

Not a real M car, as produced in Mexico, all real M cars are produced in Munich. As I always said M2 is not a real M car and unfortunately I own one.

I would say your car is one of the best M cars ever produced, specially the Competition, wherever it is made. Lucky you!

Why do you think so? For starters to have it handle at all it needs 6000 dollars with of suspension upgrades and alignment. Lol if your talking m2 race car well that is much better. It handles as it should over bumps.

Ha ha ha reading threads like this convince me that automotive exterior design is probably one of the most thankless jobs on the planet. Every person has their own opinion on what's right/wrong that no singular design could ever satisfy.

You are totally right! If you want to race it on a track constantly you need some upgrades.
I do not relate M cars as race cars (there are track focused cars), but sport cars to race occasionally, thats just me.
As an overall M car, the M2 stands out, i m h o.
Cheers
