Several things I should have done different here, but the mosquitos were killing my concentration. After 10 minutes or so I just wanted to get back in the house. This is with the Kenko 2x TC and the 70-300L. Tripod mounted, ISO 100, f11, 1/125 sec. If I were to become an astrophotographer, I'd invest in a geared tripod head. Setting the head to keep the moon centered is a royal pain.

Nice Mark. So, essentially you're at 960mm? How did you focus it? Auto? Manual? LiveView?

You ain't been watching the weather? We're going to get poured on by Isaac starting tomorrow and running through Monday. It's going to be a long, wet weekend. Ain't gonna be no moon shots.

Too busy to check weather. Pretty much been - wake up, if the sun is out and not wet I go for a run then start my day... if not, just start my day an hour early.
Fuck school I'm so done. 2 more weeks. Sucks we won't see the blue moon. |

Yeah, no good Blue Moon shots for us. Can't wait for some nice, cold, clear air this winter, though. No bugs and no haze.

hmm... didn't realize you were in IT. What do you do? Do you work at a company or an educational institution?

The forest fires in Idaho created some very red sunsets in Montana.

I run IT for a school within the University of Illinois. One man show with way too much work. Typical IT guy.

Nice shot, Spanner. Colorful sunsets always mean too much crap in the air, sadly.
