“But according to Marko, someone who definitely does know Newey well, Aston Martin could be his preferred option.
“What colour do I see Newey in the future?” Marko said as per total-motorsport.com. “I think the red clashes a bit with the dark blue. But I think anything is possible with a great colour like green.”” Haha. He is such a stirrer. |

Sky Italia claims: "The official announcement is missing, but for Adrian Newey, all roads lead to Maranello.
He will have the role of super advisor, starting in April 2025, with the possibility of working on the 2026 car project, the report added. He will possibly also get involved at the races, given that he will arrive shortly after the season has started." https://www.grandprix.com/news/red-b...-close-in.html |

Well he seems to be indicating he will likely return to F1, where, seems Ferrari are in pole position with it looking like a done deal. Williams have said they are speaking to him which would be very interesting, but Mercedes aren’t completely out of the picture but unlikely.

Nice interview with Eddie Jordan / Adrian Newey at an Oyster boat event. This is the interview where he said he wasn't going to stop.

Well it seem reports are now saying Newey won't be going to Ferrari. He has said in the past it's all or nothing and you need to be based in Italy. Or maybe if the team is getting closer to the front they don't want to upset what they have?!?
Williams, McLaren, Mercedes, Aston Martin still in the mix maybe. MMMmmmm https://www.gpblog.com/en/news/27921...nterested.html |

Only drawback: rumor has it that Newey has reserves as regards Lawrence Stroll ("It is rumoured that Newey is rather reserved towards Stroll Sr. and is therefore not considering the Canadian's financially attractive offer. Also, he does not like the idea that Stroll could drive up the market value of Aston Martin with Newey as an asset and then perhaps sell the team for a profit - https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/a...nent/10605070/).

Yeah I’ve mentioned the same before, interestingly it’s looking like Binotto is being looked at to replace Krack, either way few seem to be complimentary of the atmosphere in the team and I doubt that is Neweys motivation.

“According to F1-news.eu Lawrence Stroll have made decision and Mattia Binotto will be joining Aston Martin in the role of CTO, Chief Technical Officer, replacing Andrew Green who left in 2023 Mike Krack continues to be TP of Aston Martin, reported by Motorsport-Total Germany Not into the article but PO, Mattia did great job implementing the new wind tunnel of Ferrari back in 2020 and most probably this will be the highest priority for him” |

This isn't the first time but he expects results and when he doesn't get them he is more prone to just fire people, hello Binotto..... |

So the latest seems to be that Newey isn’t going to Ferrari he seems to have walked away from that and is likely to choose a team based in the UK. McLaren or Aston Martin the most likely now.
Although Jeremy Clarkson apparently said in an in interview he was looking for a house in Oxfordshire that could be more Williams, maybe he wants a pet project than a full all in 5 day a week involvement. |

I heard he said neither Ferrari driver in the 2025 line up can win in a car he designed - they require supreme levels of talent as they are fast but not easy to drive. He then said, if Sai had stayed he would have considered, but the Ham signing totally showed him they clearly not serious about winning.

Interested if Sebastian Vettel, Damon Hill or Jacques V is classed as having supreme levels of talent though, I wouldn’t? |

Beyond that, Sai isnt well liked, not that good (though he is better than Ham) and it's not surprising no top team wants him. Nor said he was afraid to race against Max and apparently Ham and Alo also rejected talks from RB. It doesnt matter who Max's teammate is - none can compare and none will come close to him. And he'd never lose a WDC to a teammate who is below mediocre like Ros. Last edited by HeelToeShift; 07-14-2024 at 09:08 AM.. |
