Muscle weighs more than fat.

What do you weigh?

I just meant that you're a pretty stout dude and no hidden seat tube electric motor is going to provide the speed you'll be looking for.

It's under there somewhere. Has be dormant for about 10 years. Going to start lifting again when I drop under 180. Ive been on a calorie deficit for about a year and don't think I can make any appreciable muscle gains without a calorie surplus. So probably in August I'll cut back a bit on the cycling and dedicate some time to strength.

All I've been doing for exercise since December is cycling.

I may be older than you though....

Does anyone use the Peloton indoor cycle for when the weather isn't conducive to riding outdoors? They have live and on-demand classes. I don't own a Peloton, but I am going to try the app to see if I like the classes.

These summer rain showers in the afternoon suck. They are playing havoc on my training. I don't mind getting caught in the rain, but i'm not one to start in the rain.

To answer your question, no. I just use a fluid trainer in the garage.

Seems cool if you like spin classes.

You called?

I actually got my shit in gear yesterday. The back tire was so flat I had to take it off and go over tot he gas station. Got out my can of grease and lubed up the chain. Adjusted the brakes. Need to take it in and have someone work over the derailers because I couldn't get the front to move until I shifted THEN used the bottom of my shoe

It was warm at 77, but I still got in my 4.5 miles on the mountain bike. Son was at the baseball field and forgot his power cell so that was my excuse.

It' cant be bad, especially for motivation. I think I'd prefer something like Zwift, but you'd need to have the right equipment. Regardless, if you're training, any thing that keeps you moving forward is all good in my book.

I picked up a road cycle over the weekend and took it out for the first time a couple days ago. I am not in the best of shape by any means. Was able to knock out 21 miles on a mostly flat trail. Big difference coming from riding my 29er mtn bike.

Gotta read up and learn some more about cycling, kind of going into it blind. Bought this mildly used Fuji 1.0 Newest from a buddy of mine.

Congratulations! I've been told that road biking makes for mad mountain biking stamina.

That would be nice

I have been lazy this year and haven't ridden much. I did go down to my local BMX track last night and hoped on a 24" cruiser loaner bike and took 3rd place in my age group.

I've got the NBC app downloaded and ready, so I can be somewhat functional.

I either get up at the butt crack of dawn to watch, or wait til I get home in the evening. Avoiding all social media in between. Some of the teams are stacked, and with the number of contenders it should be a good race. Too bad no kwrjksiwksi in the tour this year.

Don't worry, Sky will scoop him up and bring him to the tour. They will also effectively ruin your enthusiasm for him too

Yes - I am in the anyone but Froome/Sky camp. I will tab Quintana for yellow, I think it's the slimmest of margins between him and Froome. My sentimental side would like to see Contador win, however I think Quintana and Froome have the edge.
