My pic made it to National Geographics daily dozen for Week 1 of March and also Yahoo's most emailed photos (currently on 3).
Edit: Just made it to #1 most viewed pics: http://news.yahoo.com/photos/most-viewed from their weekly wrapper http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/yo...k-1-3_1600.jpg

Yes, but only if you keep the sensor square to the subject. Half the people here probably don't know what we're talking about. BTW, Canon's 17mm TS-E lens is stunning when used simply as a wide-angle lens, without using the tilt or shift functions. I was thinking of getting one, but will probably get a super-wide to wide zoom.

I wouldn't call it "massive", around 60%. It flew straight over me at maybe 100-feet, this is probably 100-by ground and 100-ft up.
The light was excellent and I was able to use ISO 400 so that lots of details survived the crop. This one would have withstood well over 100%. The pixel-pitch of the 7D's sensor and the 500mm lens are a match made in heaven. The 7D may not have the best high-ISO performance, but it's preservation of detail in cropping is one of the very best sensors available, bar none. Dave

Thanks guys...I just got my 550D almost a week ago (couldnt take any shots due to sand/wind storms in the area and then the hanging dust). I also purchased a cheapo Tammy 70-300 f4-5.6(sloooow) Macro 1:2....this is just the first picture I was able to post once weather cleared. I hope the weather is good for this "Super-Moon" event on the 19th...I really would like to get a great shot of it...
