Oh, wow! I have been scouting around for a sound bar for a couple of months now -- my big-bucks 20 year old Yamaha DSP surround unit gave up the ghost a while back and going back to integral TV sound is .

I have a decent Yamaha subwoofer sitting unconnected by the TV and was looking for a soundbar without a separate sub -- this looks perfect!

But I just bought a Denon unit for far more a couple of weeks ago... Oh, well. It's only money.

We had a Gaggia Vision Platinum for about 13 years that died Monday night. That past few days, especially the past few mornings, have been rough and that's an understatement. Its replacement finally and thankfully showed up this afternoon.

Don't sweat, I bet your Denon sounds way better! I have tinnitus and partial deafness, so the sound bar is more so I can actually hear what I watch without pumping up the TV volume close to max and having it sound like crap. It's one advantage of losing your hearing, I'm no longer an audiophile like I used to be. Everything sounds bad, so everything sounds good!

edit: is this the unit?

I might pick one up for the den TV. I was a sucker for Denon products back in the day. Not bad of a price either!

Yep, that's the one. I bought it from Crutchfield for $239 shipped. That $199 does sound like a good deal, depending on how much shipping is.

I haven't hooked it up yet; it's a present from "Santa" and sitting under the tree.

Got this 08 Mini for a smoking deal today for only $1k. Non-S 6spd with a clean history. Was having some issues but the owner didn't want to mess with it as they just bought a new car. Well I thought the battery could be most of the issue and I was right! Also had a code for an O2 sensor which I found the wires touching the exhaust manifold melting them, problem solved. Everything works on the car now. Has a leaky valve cover so that's next. Body and interior are even in great shape. I've been really bummed since I found my Omni GLH race days are over, would have been year 40 for it. I'm hoping this car will fill the race gap for now. My wife hates when I get new project cars be even she is impressed with this one.

I'm thinking about selling the beater I brought (a 2008 Toyota Camry) and picking up a 2004 BMW 325XI for a "winter beater". Might be a bad decision but

Aqara Hub M1S Gen 2. I have it set to light up red if any of our outside doors is unlocked or the garage door is open even an inch. One day last week I realized I had left the side door to the garage unlocked over night. We're lucky we live in an area with virtually no crime. This is plugged into a socket right outside our bedroom door, so I'll know if I left a door unlocked as I'm heading to bed. If all the doors are closed and locked, the light goes out.

$50 at Home Depot. Should be easier to use outside and in spaces where I don't want to mess with extension cords.

I am in the market for an espresso machine and I am not sure where to start. I am looking at the Breville's and heard good things about them.

How does it know if all doors are indeed closed and locked? Have you wired up them all to be smart? Interested.

So my lovely wife gave me this from Santa this year. It's a Philips model 4300 that does everything. It is replacing a Nespresso espresso maker and a Nespresso coffee maker, both of which were excellent. But to make a cappuccino, you also had to bust out a milk frother, and I think my wife just wanted to reclaim some space.

So far, it is taking me awhile to get it dialed in. Coffee is not as rich as the Nespresso, but lattes and cappuccino milk foaming is excellent. Still a work in progress, as it has a lot of settings/adjustments for coffee. I am also curious on feedback for the Gaggia.

I should add to the All in One Coffee/Latte/Espresso machines....you have to brew about 100 cups of coffee before it is broken in (this is true of all models). Also, there are a lot of variables:
Which beans did you use?
What are the grinder settings?
What is the steep (aroma) setting?
How much water?
Temperature setting?
Etc.

So while I am still getting the Philips to perform perfectly, I also know I have to give it a proper chance to get dialed in, along with my personal settings.

Lastly, if you read reviews on these super automatic machines, - people either love them or hate them.

Yes. They all have smart locks and door sensors. For locks I went with Level Bolt smart locks. I was only interested in knowing if a door was locked or not and maybe the occasional need to remotely lock or unlock the door. Plus the Level Bolt is just the guts of the deadbolt, so you use your existing locks and keys. But if you want to use your phone to unlock doors all the time, I'd look at a different lock brand. The Level locks are quite slow to react.

And then I have a mix of door sensors. Some doors have the Eve Home door sensors and some have Aqara door sensors. Both work about the same, but the Eve sensors are more geared toward an Apple ecosystem. The status light I have is also an Aqara and acts as a hub for the door sensors, so if you're going to get the same light I have, stick with the Aqara door sensors. They're quite a bit cheaper anyway and they use a more commonly found battery.

Aqara also makes smart door locks, but I've never used them.

I have the same model and have used it with family and friends going on 1.5 yrs. It does take some tweaking but once set, so easy. I use Kona beans and tend to like darker the better.

I have a Krups coffee grinder I set to 2-3 and makes the right grind level to extract optimal flavor.

All that said, I tend to be more technical and like the process of optimizing the right settings. I can see why some folks want a 'point and shoot' simple to use machine.

I love mine.
