I bring you the case of Max on Stroll at last year. If they penalize Lewis for this they should penalize Max for that.

Each case should be taken on merit, I fail to see any comparison firstly with the seriousness of this Silverstone one and the speed at which it happened with the far more possibility of serious injury or worse.

With a different run-off, that crash would have been serious as well. |

Also with both drivers sharing some of the fault, it's silly to use that argument in sports. The penalty is judge based on the incident not the consequences. There was no intent. I feel like I am repeating myself but Schumacher had intent when he crashed into Villeneuve in 1997, even thou he took himself out of the race, because he willfully and maliciously tried to take his opponent out he got disqualified and lost his wdc points. There was no intent in this incident. The fact that there was a lot of damage from a small amount of contact is part of the sport. Get over it. Suing for damages in sports/racing is even more silly, in no sport do competitors get sued or pay for other competitors damages that happen during competition. That would set a bad precedence and probably end most sports. Red Bull needs to take their head out of their ass.

The actions leading the the incident are taken into account, the outcome/consequences of the incident is not.

Don't shoot the messenger!
RIC says nothing out of line between ham & ver crash. Of course RIC probably has a problem with Max to be fair. https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/a...ynYC0FxTa.html |

That doesn't mean anything ..MAX is not for sale .
In the race it's a dog fight anyway , because every single drivers point really matters !

This is why supporting a driver and team who make such statements and condone such outbursts is impossible. They have zero class. Absolutely none.

I actually feel bad for the kid (as much as you can for a very privileged one). I think he actually has talent, but he will never get out from under the the only reason he has a seat in F1 is because of his dad.

TLDR, none of them have the moral high ground IMO, some much less than others though. I agree though, RB seems to be on the bottom of said hill. |

Is there some other definition or usage of the word that's offensive? It sounds like a pretty straightforward (and perhaps accurate) insult |

Honestly, that's just part of racing. You can't go around changing finishing order when someone gets knocked out of a race - you'd have a mess on your hands. The penalty given to Lewis was too light, but probably within the guidelines of appropriate penalties in those situations. He took a risk, which was acceptable to him given that if he didn't take the risk he had no chance of winning the race; and in fact it may not have been long before Max drove away so it was perhaps his only opportunity to take such a risk
