Laid some vinyl flooring in the laundry room (direct on concrete) over the weekend for the wife's VDay gift.
She's a licensed corporate interior designer, so all of the flooring was free (sent as "samples").

The after pics show a couple of spots that need to be finished because I was about 4-5 pieces too short. So the wife requested more "samples".

So this only cost me about $40 total for adhesive & a pressure roller (to get it all to stick), not including my time. The adhesive takes about 1.5-2 hrs to cure (become clear) before you can lay the vinyl down.

Almost done finishing our basement....have to do some LED lighting behind bar still and finish up work out area and dartboard area.

Moved my office downstairs, too.

As you can see, I'm a bit of a sports fanatic (and I only have 1/3 of my collection up).

The leaves are just about done falling off the oaks here in North Florida.

Will be cleaning gutters here soon. What recommendations do you have for gutter guards for going forward? Can’t imagine anything special, right?

Put these in years ago, they’ve held up well for me. Leaf filter as seen on tv is huge $ from what I’ve heard. I also have an oak tree that finally finishes now. Yard looks awful all winter!

Thanks! Is it maintenance free? Meaning, get them installed and that's it? Don't need to come back to clean gutters again.

Speaking as one home owner to another, nothing is ever maintenance free.

Tell me about it

I've cleaned out my gutters twice since I've lived here and have my third on the slate when I plan to put some guards on at the same time. This is one thing that I just really don't want to have to revisit any time soon...

Yes, almost maintenance free. I will remove some pine needles / small twigs that accumulate on the edge of the gutter once in a while, since there is a small lip there. Nothing inside gutter though.

When I bought my house, it had a cedar shingle roof that I didn't really care about. I had a metal roof installed which is great in the Winter as the snow just falls off.

However...

After the first snow storm, the snow came tumbling down like an avalanche, scared the shit out of me and the dog. It completed destroyed the gutters, front stairs and bannisters.

Wow, I saw that in the other thread and thought it was a joke. I hope everyone is safe.

Got the first quote from them last night and it was a little light but not too terribly far off. I have already had my contractor in the house and working on the quote. It will be better than it was before.
