first time posting on this thread - just got my first dSLR months ago and instantly addicted to photography...would go shooting every day if i didn't work so damn much!

anyway, look forward to learning from you guys. i'm primarily interested in street, candid, portrait, and of course, automotive photography. would love to pick up a FF e.g. 5diii one day when i get my skills up to par.

Is it all out of focus for a reason?

Looks like he was manual focusing.

I think you might be ready for a full frame by the looks of a few of your flikr pictures.

what modes are you shooting in, if you're pretty confident shooting in M then you'll probably find a 5D almost easier to use. I went from a T1i to the 5DII and it wasn't a bad jump at all. It was actually easier to use some of the functions because of the rotating wheel at the back as well as the top.

I wouldn't take the step up to full-frame lightly. You'll probably have to update your lenses as well, as full-frame accentuates any flaws in your glass.

I like your picture ploo... just wondered if you chose to make it blurry or did it on purpose. You got some pretty cool photos in your flickr as well.

That doesn't help his case.

Looks like he shot wide open and got a wafer thin DOF. The very corner of the meeting points of the vertical and horizontal planes of the trunk and fender appear to be sharp. Everything else is fuzzy.

I was just comming back to make a comment about this wondering what lenses the poster had.

I don't know if you looked at some of their flickr pictures, but a few of them are showing nice depth and a good learning curve.

while there are definitely a couple of dudds in there, there's potential.

give it another month or 2, or another 4000 pictures playing in Manual mode as well as AV and TV.

However, that being said, the T2i is a fairly capable camera, so don't rush yourself, or keep it as an extra camera for days you don't want to damage a much more expensive FF camera.

looks like you captured someone swinging an S.O.S. pad around on a rope, is this correct?

or is it just a sparkler/firework?
