Apple iPhone 12

Fiance wants the 12. Her phone is fine, but I can't win that argument for the life of me. With that said if I add her to my phone plan she will get a $250 credit towards the phone. Her Iphone X 256g is in great condition, so should be able to get a couple hundred for that as well. The 12 is roughly $1000, so after all that should be out the door for around $300-$400. Not too bad.

Side note, since they no longer will come with chargers (and all my old iphone / ipad chargers are only 5w) I ordered one of these in preparation for my iPhone 12 mini :

Go figure he texts me right after I ordered the Logitech one...lol. Guess I'll be spending a little bit more money.

The nightstand-charging market is oddly huge, MagSafe will shape it a little too. Recently I just upgraded my nightstand chargers too. $70 from the mighty Costco.

The $13 is for 24 months, which equal $312, so with the $50 down I am only paying $362 for a brand new 12, not to bad.

Verizon is offering me $200 off the iPhone 12 without any trade in. Considering it as I can likely get at least $300 for my X.

Thanks. Will look into this. Was planning on handing the XS to my mom when I upgrade but I think she’s fine with her current iPhone.

I ordered an iPhone 12 pro max 256gb in Pacific Blue, along with a blue leather case this morning at 5:02. Traded in my 3 year old X. Supposed to deliver on the 13, but I expect it will come a bit early. Well now that I said that it won’t. Lol!

12 Pro Max on the way! It'll be a fun pick-up since I'll be out of town launch day visiting in VA, but I had it shipped to the closest Apple store.

The back to back camera tests between the 11 and 12 will be fun.

So just to throw this out there too - this is one of the first pics I took with my 6S in September 2015. Still to date one of my favorite pics I've ever taken and I'm looking forward to seeing what I can capture with the 12's cameras. Also, this is degraded a bit from me pulling it off my instagram just now instead of uploading the raw file.

Forgot to update here - I got the 12 mini, in blue, 256gb.

Loving the size, speed, everything - it's a massive upgrade from my 6S.

First thing I did was hit the beach to try and catch a good pic of the sunset. Unfortunately...I noticed a fat lens reflection that was annoying the hell out of me. So I snapped a few anyway, contacted Apple, their rep immediately authorized a replacement phone, I thought ok cool maybe one of the multiple lenses just got knocked a bit loose or something.

Made an appt at the Apple store, it took a week to get an appt but they did replace the phone. However, during the replacement process, one of the techs got curious enough to ask for the pics so I showed him. He just looked at me and goes "uhhhhh...we'll finish the replacement because it's already authorized and processed, but I can tell you from experience that that's normal and will happen again with this new phone. It's due to the multiple layered lenses, no way around it - can't point directly at a light or you'll get that. You have to just do your best to edit it out / around it afterwards." He had a 12 mini as well.

Sure enough, got the new phone set up, tested the camera....reflections.

So, while there is a plethora of new things to get used to and try out with regard to the OS and camera tools and editing suite...I guess you have to be careful of reflections and such. Also, there's already a couple big software updates out for problems specifically with the mini. I'm hoping future software updates take care of the big green laser dot lens reflection I keep getting...

Fiance just got the 12. She likes the blockyness of the 12 vs her 10. Also the camera is obviously improved. Other than that her response was "it's the same thing as my 10" in which I responded by telling her she didn't need to purchase the phone. Shes stubborn, maybe one day she will head my advice, but I doubt it lol.

I have an XS and not upgrading. Been working perfectly fine for last few years. Maybe I’ll upgrade in a year or two.
