wasnt expecting a clean first corner but it was..

race was pretty tense for Lewis, though with 2 stop things may turn into victory.. though it was obvious the main goal was keeping him on the podium.. in the end 6 is a better number now..

there was something going on with Vettel in the first lap ll watch it again on F1TV after it uploads.. like Martin Brundle was telling he somehow hopped somewhere around the track i guess he touched to Leclerc on one of the slow corners exit i remember such a scene.. so im not sure it was all track bumps work..

I thought he would be retired after the first lap with that pace.

well even if Ferrari crew was seeing no difference on sensors and telemetry on the car maybe it was signal from the car something was wrong already.. cause he told after he retired somehow car was not cornering properly to right or left dont remember which side.. and few laps later it broke.. Vettel was on the curb quite deep right before the corner suspension failed.. that right hand turn all weekend long.. maybe it was the reason..

EDIT: yeah on F1TV at 08:50 Vettel jumps few times on the same corners exit badly.. i watched a lot of onboards during the race never seen that amount of bouncing on that exit.. and a little jump on the corner after the back straight but i dont think it d hurt the car that much to brake the suspension.. maybe it was the combination..

yeah.. seems like from replay that bounce was from the curb inside when they were close to Leclerc.. now i realized that Vettel was hitting hard on the sausage yellow curb on corner 4 quite hard each lap as well.. Norris wasnt touching that curb for example.. i wont able to watch each driver each lap on the same corner but thats what it seems..

I just watched it onboard VET's car and they didn't touch. But there was a radio message about turn 9 the lap before, I didn't understand it.

I think after the rumours from the last weeks Ferrari is afraid for a deeper FIA investigation ...
SEB's suspension ! Wow ! I saw it already in the first lap . Something was really wrong with his car .

Great race pace from Bottas . He was the best today and his Merc ran oustanding !
Congrats for Lewis to win the WT....Again

MAX came very close with only 1.3 sec. from Lewis , and 4 laps to go . 2nd place from Lewis is saved by the yellow flags in the last 2 laps . MAX was ready to make his move , but the yellow flags decided it otherwise !

This race was actually Merc vs MAX .

probably it was the early signs of a fail showing some interruption for gear changes.. Ferrari was having some problems like this during practices.. seems like the corner that broke the rear end and the corners exit that most of the drivers lap was deleted can put a lot of stress on the rear.. equals transmission actually .. probably Ferrari ll tell the reason tomorrow or something..

Absolutely, second place was Max's if it was not for yellow flags.Hate that damn yellow colour anyway. Whatever problem Seb had with the rear suspension at first was exacerbated when he hit kerb at T8 or 9?
With Lec getting fastest lap and an extra point I couldn't see the red engines being that slower like Ham was suggesting just playing a waiting game with the tyres.

Just another parade by the drivers hitting target lap times on their wheel to save tires and execute a predetermined race strategy.

Thinking about it, it's been a pretty shitty year. There champion was decided after Bahrain when we all saw Ferrari was nowhere close to Mercedes in every aspect. Them we go deeper into Mercedes we see that Hamilton will always be the favorite over Bottas.
Ferrari is a joke. Red Bull will never win until they get a worthy engine.

On another note VER commented on Ferrari's start that it wasn't good because they stopped cheating. What a douchebag

I quite enjoyed the race, its a great track (bar the bumps obviously).
Bottas showed the sort of form everyone thought he had when at Williams.
Hamilton...while having his usual end of season easing off...still drove an awesome race, especially on knackered tyres at the end.
Albon made impressive progress through the field several times after 3 pit stops...he would have been 4th bar the squeeze at the first corner that required a tyre change.
Verstappen managed to not live up to the hype as often happens.
Enough said about Ferrari.
Not a massive fan of Hamilton but there is little doubt that he is the best of his generation and somewhere right up there with Senna.

Fascinating race with all the different race strategies.

The Maclarens are really coming good, hopefully they will be closer or equal to RB next year.

Only one question, where did the Ferarri pace go in the race? CL was a second a lap slower than Max and the Mercs. Even the Renaults and Maclarens were matching his pace......

Lec doesn't know himself but I think it could be a combination of having an older engine and not maxxing it though he did go for the fastest lap later.
When the smoky oil leak one is repaired, if it can be,for Brazil he should be back up to pace.He also said the car was 'acting up' handling wise which was down to the rough track and understandably cautious with what befell his teammate.

Vettel going to congratulate Hamilton in the post race cool down room was pretty classy.
I like the guy...In a list of drivers you'd like to go for a drink with...he'd be on my list.

The Ferrari pitstop screwed again . Charles lost there 7.5 sec . In F1 terms that's like crossing an ocean of time !

Or is it this ?
