Yankees play TB the last three games of the season at Yankee Stadium Oct 1-3. However as you’ve said, TB isn’t going away. Yankees can win another 20 games in a row and they’ll still be 3 games back of them. They just don’t lose.

1 game playoffs are a crapshoot. It’ll be Sale vs Cole so whichever pitcher has his stuff, that team will advance. Unless Cole dominates for 8 strong innings and Chapman blows it.

What a holiday weekend of disgrace. Baltimore took the series and we didn’t even show up against the Royals. There goes the division for sure and the WC is far from locked up.

And can someone please explain why the Yankees sent down Luis Gil last month when he had not one, not two but three (3) good solid starts to begin his MLB career? And now they want to bring him back up to pitch out of the pen?

You could be a jays fan and constantly bang your head against the wall every time Montoya signals to the pen for Trent Thornton.
That guy can’t manage! He can bring a young inexperienced team together, but actually managing a bullpen? No chance.

No one was going to catch TB this season. They've been on fire since the trade deadline.

TB is 9.5 games up on the division so yes I agree with you there as nobody is catching them. With our teams struggling as of late, it has given new hope to Oakland, Seattle and the Jays. I wouldn’t lock in the Yankees just yet.

So maybe the Yanks aren't locked into a WC slot. They blew a 2-1 lead tonight on the last O's batter in the bottom of the 9th. Runner on 3rd, wild pitch, game tied. Then they allowed a run in the bottom of the 10th. Game over. Yanks now a half game out of the WC. Easy enough to make up, though. Still, blowing a game this late in the season against the O's...

Red Sox need to sweep their series with the O's.

Sox suck. And I'm a Sox fan. They can beat the bottom feeders, but they screw up even the most fundamental baseball and it shows against better teams. The Yanks get to face the Jays next while the Sox get the even more pathetic O's. The WC race is still very much in flux.

Welcome back. Yankees shocked me this past week as I though they were done in the water. Now it won’t be easy this week as they’ll face the Jays who’ll give everything they got to get into the wild card and TB comes in. Think if it as a playoff week for the Yankees as they have to keep winning to guarantee a spot.

Baltimore has been mailing it in since Spring Training and that’s just what the socks need. As long as Boston takes care of their own, they’ll get in. However, Seattle is creeping up.

Yanks are looking like they'll nail down a WC spot. If they pull off this win tonight, they'll be 2 games up with just 3 left to play. Jays will go against Baltimore, so unless they tank like the Red Sox did, they should sweep that series. But they'll be 1 game back going in. Tough to make that up. Sox are on a down elevator and will be out of the running after this weekend, so I'm thinking the Yanks will end up facing the Mariners for the WC playoff at Yankee Stadium.
