Exactly. I see it working well on a lot of existing models. Especially the gray tone cars. I am just wondering what they do on fx Misano blue.
Also I am wondering why they made it a silent release. It is just a short note in the press release for the i4.

At first it feels starkly modern in contrast to what I’ve known, but I also don’t hate it. What’s cool about the transparent area: all those fun quirky and/or individual colors will show off even more. In a sense, it allows BMW to display something they’re known for — beautiful and rich colors — through their corporate logo. Not a terrible idea.

For the time being, the new design will only be used in print/digital advertising and for "futuristic" stuff like i4 or iNEXT. Even letter heads will remain for now. Could change in future of course.

I think it suits the electric cars. Every company has tried to make its electric cars look futuristic and that's a step in that direction. I am sure that the old emblem will stay for the rest of the range and will probably even be available for the electrics if you want it.
I personally really like it. |

check the cars from WWII, i think the grill is gonna be bigger and bigger to match that old standard, so current grills are more than fine in comparison with what they could be.

Finally the stupid "BMW logo is a propeller" myth is debunct on BMW.com main page.
I even explained this once to the director of BMW Amsterdam and he looked at me like he heared water burning.

They should just get rid of the roundel and do B M W on the grille, or maybe a grille emblem with wings, that would look awesome.
I mean since they threw away kidneys. Go big or go home.

Looks like a coaster.
I'm presuming that this is just a concept or is for use exclusively on the i vehicles?

I didn't care either way but for those of you who did...
BMW i4 Concept introduces a new logo, no plans to be used on new cars https://www.bmwblog.com/2020/03/04/b...d-on-new-cars/ "Now, don’t be panicked, according to a BMW spokesperson, the new logo will not be used on cars. It is mainly for communication purposes (online and offline)." |

I don't know. It is quite different, but emblems tend to change over the lifespan of automakers. Not entirely surprised that BMW followed suit. It would be pretty cool if they backlit it in some type of way.
Note to future self: Don't buy a white vehicle if the letter etching isn't modified. |

It's sad the say, but how everything is going and the way BMW drives nowadays you are buying for the badge. 2010 and up nothing is the same no more.
