you know, there's unusual amounts of betting activity for the Knicks to win the Championship this year.

I'm a Cavs fan, but I don't see how the Cavs got any better this offseason...

I feel like they barely won it last year. Had they played GSW 100 times, they likely would have split 50 games each. Now GSW, got better, and the Cavs stayed the same, lost Delly, but gained Birdman. The Cavs definitely needed another big.

I suppose the answer is always... "but LeBron tho"...but still, he is one year older. I felt like Cavs would have been the favorite to win it all if they were able to get Rose or Wade.

I saw that, however, Knicks at best are a 2nd rounder and that's it.

Not sure if they tried to unload Love to perhaps make a play for Wade. However, Bosh will be released and will be looking for a team (if cleared to play) by Feb/March so I can see him joining LeBron.

No matter how much people hate Kevin Love, he yet pours in 20 points...

I really don't understand why the opening night was the Knicks, two overrated superstars? If Rose doesn't shatter the next time he stubs his toe they may have a playoff shot; however, there are a handful of teams that will give CLE trouble this year and the Knicks aren't one of them.

Disclaimer: BOS fan here, been enjoying the slow climb back to being a legitimate threat... Confident that this is the year which they'll actually be acknowledged as a team which exists, but will probably still be a #2 to CLE.

As a Knicks fan, all I care about is the development of Porzingis. It will take a while for them to mesh but in a few years everyone will be gone except for Porzingis. However, if they do mesh, Rose stays healthy and doesn't create his own shot all the time like he did last night, then this team can do wonders. Still, I don't see them getting past the 2nd round.

This team is like the Patriots of the NBA. Lately every preseason they are written off but they'll be there at the top two of the west.

For some ungodly reason they're written off nearly every year. I'm not sure if it's the lack of a "superstar" or not, but I find it baffling that a team that has averaged around 60 wins for the past 4 or 5 seasons (not doing the math, but I know it's close) while having thee best coach in the NBA is beyond me.

Ready for a solid Celtics season, the amount of televised games is so high this year that I actually had to fold and order cable, League Pass wasn't going to cut it on it's own.

pretty much the Patriots effect. Sometimes, winning a lot becomes boring. Then a team like GSW comes up, is flashing 3s everytime they make a 3, kicking crotches and flexing, then all the sudden you forget about a team that wins on average 60 wins a season for A DECADE AND A HALF

Put this into perspective, Spurs won 5 titles in these 16 years. The beloved Warriors won 4 in their ENTIRE HISTORY if you give credit for the past Philadelphia franchise and pre-NBA.

Also doesn't help Spurs are also kind of boring to watch and in a small market.

Agreed on the first part, but I never thought they were boring to watch.. Especially the year they took out MIA, that may have been some of the most beautiful/consistent ball movement which was calm in nature but gave MIA fits.

I think the culture of SAS is just extremely quiet, non-flashy and there isn't any room for eccentricity in the roster which takes away from them being as marketable so your casual NBA viewer has no idea they exist since they're lacking one of those players (I'm not going to bother to name them, you know who they are).

Perhaps it seems strange to me that after all of these years of proven consistency, teams like the Rockets and Clippers get much more attention.

They certainly used to have some flashy players. When we had season tickets when I was a kid, got to watch George Girvin all the time. That was a treat!

I know this is WAY too early but wonder if Durant and/or Curry will come back to GS next season? I can see Miami being a player for either of them as they will have over $40M of cap space next summer (Assuming Bosh is off the books by Feb 2017). Miami's chances of landing big FA's next summer depends on how they do this season. Will Whiteside be dominant? Goran Tragic be decent? Winslow have a break out season? Even if they tank, they'll have a shot of a top pick.

GSW will have to gut all other larger role-player contracts (which they already have this year), to keep 3 of the the starting 5.

What made GSW good was that their bench kept up starter's scoring, while the other team's bench couldn't match the points. That's what made them dangerous.

Remember, at one point before 2014, there was talks of trading BOTH Steph and Klay to get Kevin Love. It sounds ridiculous now, but these guys has tremendous trade value.

Same. Charles Smith getting stuffed at the basket 9 times during the 1993 playoffs still haunts me in my dreams.

I was at that game. Smith tried to lay it off the back board, instead of trying to dunk the basketball. A 6'10 soft power forward. I could see Rose getting hurt by Thanksgiving, and Noah out by Christmas. I say 38 wins this year. Hopefully I'm wrong, and they both stay healthy. Also would be nice if the Knicks make the playoffs. Shouldn't be that difficult playing in the Eastern Conference.

man, i really miss those 90's Knicks teams

imo, the downward spiral started w/ that stupid Allan Houston contract

as for this year, i think they'll be lucky to make the playoffs.. first 3 games and i'm already down on the team
