Not Cognac this time. But I did just pick up this delicious bottle of Bourbon. Nice addition for my bar.

haha I thought it would be a lot after that guy's response. I, too, don't drink so I had to play google. Seems like $60? Hard to tell because they might have a bunch of different types.

I talked to a guy who got into bourbons and whiskey and from what he says, I admire the craft behind hard alcohol.

He mentioned that the taste of the alcohol varies by the exact location in which it was stored. Center of the warehouse, outside of the warehouse, fifth floor, etc. It's like a science. What type of barrel, and even more.

These are very affordable. A good bourbon to make a cocktail with.

Nothing grand, but Target has patio furniture 50% off right now so we picked up a small outdoor set for our master bedroom patio. Chairs with slide-out foot rests, side table with storage, pillows, outdoor rug, and faux planter for about $300.

Dig that table. Nice cocktail tables are hard to find. I had mine made to spec for cheaper than a person can buy cheap mass produced furniture.

I've been doing the same thing!!

Only 2 of these are up. The abstract dancer was a purchase from an estate sale and is at a restorer for updates. The sunflower on the wall is from a crazy ex-gf. The print is also from an estate sale and needs a new glass. I have about 20 more that need hanging, as well.

The dancer and the cityscape are in acrylic. The print is, well, a print. The sunflower is oil on canvass. I call it The Seeds of Madness.

Thank you, sir! I've been looking at bare walls since we moved in LAST April. I just had such a hard time finding what I wanted. I wish I had a house as elegant, sprawling and beautiful as yours. We did a lot of interior work ripping out walls, changing the staircase, gutting bathrooms, new cabinets and granite in kitchen. I've been on all the sites looking for ideas for wall art. I still have work to do, but I'm getting there. Today they are hanging 3 mirrors, one canvas and an inspirational black metal "Always be humble and kind". I can't wait to get home.

EDIT - Lups I don't think I deserve your appreciate. I need to be clear, unlike your crazy ass, I paid someone to do the work. I do enjoy reading your bizarre adventures though.

Thank you very much! I am humbled.
I am of the firm belief that art, decor, furniture, etc, are what makes a house, your home.
And when you add to that decor, you add emotion and character to your house.
I like looking all over for decor: online, department stores, art stores and boutiques.

You earned it, don't worry!

I think its positive that we all are not the same sort of home decor folks. I'd hate to meet you all on some dark alley to fight over a bucket or early 20th century bricks. That would suck balls.

The latest episode in my battle to restore old shit tried to kill my soul tho. Apparently there are only a handful of brick layers that do those 19th century fireplaces I obsessed all spring over. After seeing their prices, especially for a job of building two of them, we built them ourselves.

Trust me, hiring someone to do your shit is the only recommendation I will give to anyone from this day on. Even by my standards, this project was too insane.

This is my favorite piece. He hung it too high though. I think I need switch locations with the mosaic mirror. Still more to do, but it's a start.

Ha, you did get them up! Congrats!

I'm sitting on my yard, googling doctors. I just stole 8 old potato crates from an old man and instead of remorse, all I can think about is whether these will be a coffee table, or a book shelf, or a weird towel holding thingy. This has to be an illness.

Looking good!

Placement is a challenge because things need to be eye-level for the average person unless there is a furniture challenge.

I will be hanging more tonight after my last meeting. I'm doing a New Orleans themed hallway! I hope to have it done by Friday night.
