I've had a Sinn 856 for a few years, it's been a great watch, and I wear it more than my Rolex or Minerva. I really prefer the style of German timepieces to Swiss and plan on getting a Glashuette or an A Lange before too long. The Sinn U1 and U2 are great watches, you wouldn't go wrong with one of those.

I have always disliked TAG Heuer for no real reason. I haven't been exposed to many of their models but it looks like they like to play safe within the conventional style boundries.
I would definitely recommend an Omega watch. There is a reason Omega is the official time keeper of many sporting events along with Rolex.

I almost bought a Tag Grand Carrera (great watch), but I fell in love with my Monte Blanc that I bought.

Love 'em...but I stay cheap and buy a few Kenneth Cole watches so I have variety. They tell time, last, good warranty, and sub $100. I suppose one day I may go luxury, but I'll resist the addiction as long as possible.

I usually have settled for DIESEL watches, I like that they are not unreasonably expensive, but not cheap either. They make rather fashionable watches that cater to my taste, I don't think they offer a timeless design as embedded in the more expensive watches being discussed but they still produce an appealing watch. I have a DIESEL DZ9018:

Do you wear a belt? Properly fit pants don't really require one you know. (Wait, you're in Norway, you might not wear a belt!)

Sure, it's superflous, and mechanical watches don't keep very accurate time, and I'll be switching the running ones back an hour this weekend. But it's one of only bits of jewelry that a man can wear without looking silly.

My watches faired a lot better than my other holdings over the last few months too!

The Citizen Skyhawk is a great deal on a watch. Had one for several years until I think it died. Forget TAG for a 135i. One of their nicest watches by far is the Carrera - not exactly for the 135i.
I prefer Breitlings. I have a B2, but I love almost all of their chronos.

I do own the Monaco Chrono, but it is the ONLY tag watch I would ever own. It was probably the watch that made me stand up and notice that there was something else out there besides fossil, timex, etc... I told myself that if I ever had the means I would get one. Don't get me wrong... I absolutely love it, but I totally agree that they do play it way too safe as far as design goes. On the other hand, if you are going to spend lots of money, you need to get something that will last through the years (not just in quality, but in style) and for me the simple square watch will always last... just look at how many other brands (some cheap, some not so cheap) that have knocked off that simple square design since the monaco made its debut.

When you are looking at your watch, you don't have your eyes on the road.

thank you. i'll be busy for the next few weeks

i have a Panerai PAM88, a Tag Aquaracer Pro and an automatic Raymond Weil that i just got as a gift and am too lazy to research the model #.

looking at picking up either an IWC Spitfire Chrono Automatic or a JLC Master Control early next year. but the B&M Classima Exec series is also very tempting for about 1/3 the price. anyone have any of these watches?

My man if you can use the flight computer on your watch (E6B) you are the shit! I can barely use my issued one in flight due to the bumping around...lol Oh wait I forgot your A-10 does all the calculations for you, so maybe one day you'll get bored and put down your in flight magazine and play around with it. I hope you know I'm picking on you because I'm jealous, I'd kill to fly the A-10.
