Can’t leave Kelly in. But they’re gonna.
Got lucky leaving him in and getting the K.

Ballgame over, series over. It kills me to see the Redsox win. As a Yankee fan, this is painful. However, congratulations on a good season, and being World Series champs. My Yankees will be back in 2019.

Boston just needs to decide if they want to win in LA or at home

this is the shittiest game i have ever seen, and I have seen some shitty ones. An unforgivable loss. I thought the 2 back & forth losses against the Astros were bad.
Kenley comes in both games to 6 out save, which is not his thing. He cannot be extended from what I've seen. He doesn't give up hits, but boy when he does that shit leaves the field. He comes in yesterday to save, nope, tie game goes 18. Today, same BS, thank god it ended in 9 at least. In a way, I don't blame the players, but the managers. Unfortunately, we've had some shitty managing for many years. Today was an example. I'm sure a lot of the decision making is based on saber metrics BS and not on gut and how a player/pitcher is performing at the moment. I don't know what team makes the playoffs (division leader) 6 years in a row and chokes in all of them. I have been a faithful fan for the past 10 years watch, attending, listening to every game. I've even seen them in visiting stadiums. But this is it, no more for me. Clayton will be on the mound tomorrow, but it will do nothing. You don't give walks to people who later score, you don't give up pinch hit HRs. This is insane. I will just stick with auto racing and e-league. |

Every manager’s decisions can be second guessed when they don’t work out. Sox won so not much discussion about leaving Rodriguez in for one batter too many after the game. If L.A. won, people would be all over Cora for Friday’s roster use leaving the team dead on Saturday and then leaving Rodriguez in too long last night. Hill was pitching great and may have made it through the inning unscathed but could have also had a final inning like Rodriguez at which point everyone would question why he wasn’t taken out sooner.
At some point, players need to do their jobs. Hill pitched incredibly well but would not have lasted a full 9 innings. The L.A. bullpen failed miserably. Alexander comes in and gives up a 4 pitch walk and every reliever gave up at least one run. L.A. was all over Kimbrel and could have survived the Sox 7th inning. But the bullpen just gave up too much. And don’t forget to give the Sox some credit. Pearce, Moreland and Devers in particular. Even Kelly, who makes me nervous as hell, got through 2 innings without giving up a run. They did their jobs last night.

I am far more optimistic than if it were 2-2 but you’re absolutely right. Sox bats went quiet for about 27 innings before the 7th inning last night, they aren’t getting much at the plate from Mookie’s and last night J.D. Martinez looked lost at the plate. Even though the led the majors in round scored there have been a few hitting blackouts for a few game stretches this season. The bullpen has been awesome overall but has been over-performing. Anything can happen. I’m glad we need to win only 1 of 3 but it’s a game to game situation until it’s over. The sooner the better.

Maybe Kershaw will opt out and leave the Doge figuring they can't get over that hump and sign a ridiculous contract with the Yankees. In the end as it is with just about any long term contract with a pitcher, it’ll be bad.
