Nah. 530e is more than enough (I have one), I rather get a 520e at lower price.

But most importantly, I hope there will be a G61 BEV and not only a G60 BEV.

There used to be a M550d Touring but seems like it's gone.

Hi ynguldyn, your latest updates regarding DAP say:

• Current state of availability of the next level driver assist package ("Motorway Assistant"): G70 at intro; G05/G06/G07 from April 2023.
However previously you'd said something to the effect of
"there's something going on with autonomous driving and now updates/upgrades are being delayed until the new Motorway assistant is released"
Obviously the last part is my words not yours as I don't remember the specific wording ...

So the question is, do you know if there's an intention to orphan the existing autonomous driving tech/platform in favor of all upgrades coming with to the new Motorway Assistant software/platform, or is MA itself an upgrade of the existing platform?

There's a public document out there somewhere (don't ask for a link - I didn't save it) that describes the autonomous tech going into G70. From the looks of it, it'll be a completely new system. It's highly likely that MA is the marketing name for that system.

Hmmm ... I wonder if it's the Bosch system?

ynguldyn Do you know if both the regular 8's and M8's are going to be updated 3/22 as opposed to just the regular 8's first followed some time later by the M8's? I've seen thoughts both ways. Thanks.

This is the kind of update that always goes into both regular and M cars.

Thanks ynguldyn . Does that include what look to be the cosmetic changes on the camo'd 8 series that is driving around Germany? Will cosmetic changes also be in the M8? Just trying to figure out how much I might be missing out on if I ordered a 22 M8 now vs a 23 M8 in the spring.

My answer to this question has always been "get the LCI". My last three BMWs were all LCIs - intentionally.

So are you saying that the cosmetic changes will also be include for the M8 starting 3/22? Any idea on how much of a price bump there might be?

  • Intro models: 218i (B38, auto, 135hp), 220i (B38, 48V, auto, 155hp), 223i (B48, 48V, DCT, 200hp), 218d (B47, DCT, 148hp).

BMW now adds the electric power to the actual engine power in its mild hybrid models, and the full hybrids list their boost power. My numbers are for the combustion engine alone in the former case and for sustained power in the latter one.

GrussGott Found it: https://www.eetimes.com/unveiled-bmw...-architecture/

G70 gets the system the chart calls "Highway Pilot".

You can also find more hints if you google "BMW ADCAM".

AG is phasing out ICE development by cyl count. N63 is the final BMW AG V8.

Might see a CN G38 i5L and the Global JLR partnership vehicles should be showing up in the database now (new Range Rover launches in a few days).
