A little 'thump in the rump' for the F25...
(and a dial to adjust it on the fly)

So I went to use the bathroom in the basement this morning. I never use the bathroom in the basement in the morning. While "busy" standing at the toilet I looked down and noticed a trickle of water on the floor under the sink. A "That shouldn't be there." thought went through my head. A quick investigation revealed that the main waterline coming into the house was sweating and dripping on to the floor. I grabbed a rag to dry off the pipe to see if it was leaking. No leak there so now the hunt is on to see where enough water is going that it's causing condensation on the waterline. Is a toilet running? Nope. Is the outside hose bib not shut off properly? No water there. No taps dripping anywhere in the hose. That only leaves one thing and I'm hoping it is the pressure relief valve on the water heater. I open the door to the furnace room and there is water all over the floor! And it's not coming from the pressure relief valve. That would be an easy repair. I look under the water heater and see water flowing from the bottom of the tank. FML. So meet the newest addition to the household.

Close. It's an oil-fired cold water heater. If the water was hot I wouldn't need to heat it.

I feel your pain, buddy. Mine was a much quicker diagnosis compared to your situation and was a slow leak, but a leak nonetheless. Had the water heater replaced and it was $$.

Been there, done that. About a year ago. Upstairs laundry room between the house and the garage. Luckily the tank was sitting on a catch pan with a drain, so aside from a full catch pan, so major damage.

FYI, oil-fired water heaters are not very common south of the border. Our common options are natural gas/propane or electric.....

Mine actually came quicker than stated from Sprint now Tmobile. So that was a plus.
I did the 256GB version which is still stout for a smartphone.
No, here I read something about laggy apps, artificial slowed down power, accu power and duration...
All in all this was described as the worst new Samsung phone since and some had returned it and went back to the S21.

Electric, oil and propane are the three common types here. Natural gas is quite rare as most of the natural gas in the province is concentrated in the industrial and commercial sections of the city. Very few residential areas have access to natural gas and even fewer people have chosen to switch over to it. It is not available in my area at all.

Natural gas is more common here, although not in my part of our town.

We have an oil-fired boiler for heat, and one of its zones is an Amtrol BoilerMate indirect tank for making hot water. Our electric service is only 100 amps, ruling out an electric water heater without a huge upgrade that will happen over my dead body. (My "dumb" electric meter is a grandfathered legacy service, and they will only replace it with a demand meter that sends surprise $1,000 electric bills.....)

That's an incredible run... 33 years! Mine only just made it to puberty, 13 years.

we've been here 10 years, when we bought the house the home inspection said it needed to be replaced. (but missed all the leaky skylights)

I looked into an electric on-demand (tankless) water heater but I'm kinda in the same boat as you, 100 amp service. A suitable on-demand unit requires three double pole 40amp breakers. I don't have the service or the space in my breaker panel for that so an upgraded service would be needed. Maybe if I finally decide to build a garage on the end of the house I'll dig deeper into an on-demand system but until then it's oil for me.
As for the meter, I have the latest bi-directional meter for the solar panels so I'll just have to keep an eye on the bills.

Okay this wasn't the LAST thing I got, but after 3 years with the iPhone XS Pro I finally had enough of the battery not lasting the day and I wanted a better camera. I picked up an iPhone 13 Pro Max, and wow the screen refresh rate was a nice surprise. I didn't think I would notice, but it's suuuuper smooth, and the camera is much nicer than I thought! I ordered a KUDA mount from Poland and a Scosche MagicGrip Wireless from Proclip. Perfect in-car setup for me because I HATE covering vents and buttons for a car mount.

The photos from the iPhone 13 Pro Max are nothing compared to my DSLR, but still pretty nice and a big improvement over my iPhone XS Pro:

This is always a good time of year to pick up fall/winter season apparel because they go on sale. I've always wanted stuff from FJÄLLRÄVEN. I've seen their goods more in Europe than around where I live. Being a Swedish company I suppose that makes sense.

Anyway, picked up this nice pack down hoodie yesterday and it's comfortable AF and looks good. Some brands, including popular ones like North Face or others look okay until you wear their stuff sometimes. This brand and perhaps Patagonia, good shit. Some brands are meant to fit better I guess.
