Wow I thought my WÜSTHOF Classic Ikon's were expensive, but those are in a whole other league. I am sure she will enjoy them and I hope you have a skilled sharpener in the area.

I'm not sure this is how it's supposed to go. You're the one with the X6M. Aren't I supposed to be receiving the knife set?

They come with a lifetime guarantee and lifetime sharpening-- ship them, they sharpen, ship back for free. I figure since she's going to be buried with these (if she doesn't stab me first), they'll more or less amortize out over the next few decades.

My wife bought an inexpensive (yeah, that surprised me too) knife roll, and each blade comes with a leather sheath, so shipping back will be easy. I figure once a year or so will do- maybe twice a year for the heavy use ones.

You can either ship to their factory in Victor, ID or you can drop them off in St. Helena, CA, Victor, ID, Park City, UT, or Jackson, WY-- which are all good locations to Road Trip to on my GS.

In all fairness to my wife- she's been lusting over these knives for almost four years. Every. Single. Time. she goes to Napa (she's a foodie/wine snob, so that's a fair bit) she'd always ends up going to St. Helena and drooling over the knives, testing out which ones she wanted, etc. I finally just snapped and bought the damn things for her since it was obvious it just wasn't a "whim" purchase. I'm a good husband, but not *that* good.

He already bought those stilettos and now trying to determine whether it's worth throwing the knife set in. You do realize you're going down a rabbit hole and may never recover. You will OWE him. He won't be satisfied with late reciprocity.

Congrats. A few years ago, we bought a set of Shun Kaji (proprietary to Williams & Sonoma) kitchen and steak knives. They are amazingly well balanced and weighted, with folded steel in the blade, and the handle feels really good in the hand. We always get people asking us about the steak knives.

I can say that spending this kind of money on kitchen knives is worth it in the long term, especially if you take care of them.

Here is the product link to the set we got:

Shun Kaji

Those knives from New West KnifeWorks look amazing, and I like the colored handles! I'm sure you kept all the packaging in order for when you send them back to the factory for sharpening.

I don't own them but I just like how this particular series looks. That light wood grained handle and the blade.

M_Six IIRC I recommended a particular pressure washer that was on sale at Costco last Summer. Not sure if you ever ended up with one though. The Husqvarna electric one. I think I had mentioned getting it as well as a bunch of car wash accessories including a foam cannon like the one being discussed here.

Yeah the nozzles all look alike with different colors to indicate the type or purpose of the nozzle. Some are meant for washing cars while others are meant to clean the driveway, etc. There are a ton of cheap foam cannons you can buy and the one I have works pretty well with that pressure washer. In fact, I had wished I bought it much earlier. I learned a trick from a YouTube video, some detailer guy that recommended a smaller orifice for the cannon that helped increase the foam. Works really well.

I did buy that one and I've been looking for the old thread where you recommended a different hose for the gun. You were right, the hose that comes with that pressure washer is lousy. Mine developed a nasty kink right away. Do you have a link to the replacement hose you bought? Other than the gun hose, I love the pressure washer.
