All of our parking by-laws had a "if you can tag it you can tow it" authority. Surely there is a similar clause where you are.

It's the border between city and county. CHP does parking in county instead of sheriff.

I would tag and tow it....and then repeat. You need a cop who feels your pain and is willing to put in just a bit more effort.

Even with mapping technology in the City app, they "can't find the vehicle" half the time. Then I remind them with cross streets and "oh, we'll go tag it" 18 days later

What size trailer hitch ball does it need? Is the license plate tag current/valid? Re-domicile the thing to the middle of the desert in the middle of the night.....

On one of the roads that leads into my neighborhood, there is a garage on the corner that's been open for about a year.

I rarely go that way anymore because you turn off of a very busy road onto that small road, and a lot of times they will have cars in the way.

So you turn in, have to stop, and hope you don't get hit in the rear as there is a lot of traffic pulling in as several neighborhoods are accessed from that road.

It could get ugly quickly, but nothing is ever done about it. I guess when a pile-up occurs, something will be said.

Some of these issues would be a good reason to call your local councilman - the parking van and the repair shop traffic issues. They can sometimes take an interest and make some changes or get specific patrolling done, or better codes-enforcement. Years ago we worked effectively with ours to help quiet down a neighborhood bar that had started to run karaoke in the parking lot until 3am.

Mr Kravitz checking in

Wednesday I reported to CHP what is pretty obvious joy-ridden/stolen vehicle. Front and rear damage. Driver door handle crushed. All plates removed. It's parked at the curb but REAR tires are on the limit line for the T intersection. Never seen the vehicle in the hood before. 72-hour tag was applied that evening

I followed up today because it's still there. The nice dispatcher tells me "because of stay at home order, we won't tow anything"

W

T

F???

So Sedan, who do I move up the command structure to complain about this lack of action?

Everything else is done "remotely" so why isn't the RO sent a notice and given 72 hours after confirmed delivery of notice?

I'm actually surprised they won't tow it. We store/impound vehicles daily. I would be surprised if it's stolen and the CHP left it parked, especially since 10851's and 23152's/23153's are accolades on that department.

Because it's parking in 'da Hood so they don't care, is my guess. IF this vehicle were miraculously towed to the station parking lot, I bet it would disappear

So I got a speeding ticket 86/65. This is the first ticket I've gotten. How can I fight it? It's not the best timing to have a fine and insurance go up being laid off from this whole COVID-19 thing.

I like the way you think but 85 KPH is about 53 mph, so that likely won't fly.

I would go to traffic school so that it doesn't affect your insurance and driving record.

I never thought it was weird, I always loved the complete denial or argument when you got someone who was clearly in the wrong. I was always more inclined to exercise my discretion when someone apologized/admitted what they'd done and was polite.

From today German street law for speeding had significantly changed, you got 1 month degraded to a ped plus fine by exceeding the allowed speed within city limits above 21kph (was 30) and outside 26kph (was 40).
So watch your speeds better, when visiting us, just saying

I noticed that the Oklahoma highway officers do that during their interview/investigation phase on the side of the road, and suspect that it is for their safety to be inside the car if a passing motorist gets target-fixated by the strobe lights and crashes into them standing outside the car.....
