Just apolitically in terms of policy it looks like the rebates for EV purchase will go away at minimum.

While you were gone for the past 10 months, the Mods added "NO POLITICS" to the Thread title and removed about 20 pages worth of what were deemed political content posts.

Okay thanks. I was thinking I hadn't seen the no politics warning before.

I guess never mind then!

Wait. You can’t touch the mandates being eliminated, but no problem talking about EV mandates for 400 pages?

Anyways I’ve been saying there’s no way all new vehicles would be EV by 2030 from the start. At least not in the US.

Top Gun style. Pull handle between the legs and windows pop out. Minus the ejection seats

All will be well until your kids or dog gets too curious

Man dies while washing car. Hit by jettisoned window after kids play with ejection system.

Or. Just keep using mechanical handles

The entire auto industry would collapse before that would happen, because people will just stop buying cars. That's basically what's been happening in Europe already. Too expensive, not enough range, can't tow more than 100 miles, what if the grid goes down, etc.

Wife has a x5e and she fills up every couple of months.
Also, how awesome is that wave of torque off the line? So nice in city driving or merging on the highway. You just effortlessly pull away from people.
If I want drama, i'll hop in the G87 with the mid-pipe and J pipe and intake and whatever, but around town in shit conditions, you can't beat a hybrid or EV SUV.

It's nuts. I can't believe how quick it can move.

I thought most of us were having a great discussion on mandates for the last 400 pages, but that was before the thread was re-labeled and de-boned. SteVTEC used the T-Word in his post, which triggers nearly everyone who monitors the internet and car forums. I abstain now at this point.

From a HISTORICAL perspective EV were politically mandated into existence. This fact is easily proved and validated by review of both California and Federal legislation and Agency-level regulations. It's a great topic, but ironically, verboten in car forums.

Those mandates are in Canada and much of Europe as well, odd the such a fact can't be discussed.

Two choices beckon, a PI hybrid or just plain gas, too many buy/lease a full
EV too quickly, possibly non car people that believe the tv ads or what they read in dubious articles and then when the truth dawns want to get rid of it either taking a big loss or just can't sell it at all.
