I bought 3 different blackberry strains from Home Depot over the last couple years. I planted them with my cactus, so briar-patch away! I got one berry this year, so good!

We used to go "adventuring" with GMa in Oregon (meaning she had no idea where we were going or if we would get back) in her Gremlin and pick them on the side of the road.

We would take empty gallon milk jugs and pick for hours on the farm...great memories as a kid.

A few seeds should do, but be aware they spread in an insane pace.

I found a bluegrass version of Ice Ice Baby that is awesome as well. I'll post it later tonight.

Mind you - I am not a bluegrass fan per say, but Man of Constant Sorrow and the bluegrass Ice Ice Baby version are on my play list!!

Remember - these are wild plants that really do not need any assistance or 'farming' to thrive. Incredibly resistant to drought and insects. Once they take root, impossible to kill.

Unless your yard already has this plant growing - you really don't want to introduce it into the ecosystem. They overtake everything else and spread uncontrollably fast. I have to specifically cut back about 1/2 acre where these are growing every fall to keep them in check. Nasty stuff really...one benefit though, they have engulfed a fence line on the back side of the property and provide a bit of privacy.

Fair enough, thanks for the good information. I just wanted to get some fresh fruit growing in the yard, because I love fresh fruit and veggies. I guess I'll turn my attention towards other things that won't become a nuisance.

Yup, I know, that's why I warned him from the start. Our parks here are full of those bushes

I have been in meetings all day....LITERALLY the only purpose of these meetings today have been to discuss other meetings and how to become more efficient and have less meetings!!

At least it wasn't a bunch of meetings about other meetings for increasing efficiency by having more meetings.

Bye_DC5 - squash, zucchini, tomatoes, green beans, okra, cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon, and potatoes are all easy to grow and harvest...can be grown in a small area and easy to cultivate.

My sisterinlaw shut up for long enough for me to tell her I'm going to wash the cars. I need a list of good reasons to get away from her. I can not stand this.

Its my fucking house!!!! She follows me around and talks.

I prefer to be called Billu..... Billumptuous.

Out of those, I will eat zucchini, green beans, okra, and potatoes. I have not the foggiest idea what the hell a honeydew is, but I'm just going to assume I want to honeydont for the time being. Unless it can also be interpreted as a sexual innuendo.

Honeydew is a melon...like cantoupe. Sweet tasting. Buy some from the store and try it.
