Tonka, how many arrows have you buried in your yard so far?
Only lost one so far. My dumb ass forgot to use the rear peep sight and subsequently missed the target.

is it hard to shoot ?? I kind of understand the concept of it, but I really have never been up close to one....
The whole lot, bow, dozen arrows, release, and set up was about $600. It's easy to shoot. This particular bow is adjustable from a 5# draw to a 70# draw. So it's super versatile. It's very quite, super light with little to no vibration. So for now, until my bow muscles get used to the draw, i'm just at a 55# draw weight. You could drop it down to 25#s and aside from draw length, you and the wife could drive the tacks.

I found a website that is selling a package deal for $499 which includes a hard case as well. You just have to give them your draw length and tell them what draw weight you want. They sight it in and everything.

The biggest problem people have starting out is keeping the arrow crested against the bow and stabilizing breaths, but it really isn't that difficult.

Ton of fun. Go get one now. Just don't aim it at the neighbors, apparently people are afraid of that kind of stuff.
Most modern bows have an arrow rest that centers it up for you. No keeping it on the rest anymore.

after my second round of 6 arrows when sighting it in at the shop where i bought it, the guy asked if i shot rifles. he said that most rifle shooters make good archers. So you'll be spot on too.

Through hockey season, I let myself get up to 230 from all the late night - fast food - crappy eating I do...need to drop 40 now.

And so it begins. I'm shooting for 3 to 5 miles per day - around 30 minutes depending on the pace (I'm about an 8 minute mile)

Gotta love these threads. I always find myself drooling (and getting ideas) while browsing.

Picked up Nitto Invos for the rear of the V after burning through the tires it came with in the first month. I've heard good things about them, hopefully have time to test them out tonight.
