I love the looks of the Alfa spiders and GTs, but the Berlinas have this cool vibe to them: Understated and unassuming, yet get them on a twisty road and they can shine. A bit like BMWs back in the day.

I'll play... this Alfa GTV from 1969. I'd prefer mine with bumpers and stock wheels, though.

So, Monsieur, you desire a duel, yes?

Early 1960s Alfa Romeo 2600 (Alfa's 6 cylinder flagship model)

There are plenty of awesome Alfa Romeos to go around, is it not so?

This Alfa was restored by The Guild in Bradford Ontario. I saw this car in Oakville a few years ago and talked to the owner, it is truly stunning. I asked the owner if he'd consider selling it and got a firm "no". I can't say that I blame him.

Beautiful!
I came oh so close to purchasing a 2600 in the late '60's...a very bad (like non-existant) 2nd gear synchro scared me away.

In 2016, I did a "fly and ride" from Denver to Tucson and back to purchase a 2015 BMW R1200GS. The seller was in the Air Force and had bought the bike in Germany and had it shipped back to the states at the end of his assignment. The bike had ~700 miles on it and was pristine-- literally almost brand new.

I flew out and the seller picked me up at the airport. As we were chatting on the way to his house, I asked him why he was selling essentially a brand-new bike. His response was "We just found out my wife is pregnant, so I'm only allowed to have one toy."

As we roll up to his house, he opens the garage-- and there's a beautiful 1991 right-hand-drive Skyline GTR sitting next to the bike.

Oh. Ok. I see your point.

I asked him how in the hell he got that thing in the US-- his answer was that he'd bought it in Germany when he first got there and delayed his return to the US until the car was juuuuust over 25 years old. Then the rules changed, and he was able to import it legally.

I thought that was a pretty smart way to get the US government to ship your unicorn back to the states.

I still have the bike and have ridden through 22 states to date, with a couple large road trips planned for later this summer/fall.

I can't remember the details, and the thread is LONG.

It's a genuine factory FG OG though, and there is also a genuine FG Comp in that thread as well.

Saw one of my dream cars in person over the weekend. Completely wiffed on this picture but wanted to share. I love these cars and I really love that orange color.
