Purpose
CONELRAD was designed to broadcast civil defense information to the public using radio stations. The system was intended to make the broadcasts difficult for Soviet bombers to home in on by rapidly switching transmitter stations.
Operation
CONELRAD was operational from 1951 to 1963. All commercial AM radios sold in the United States during this time were required to have the CONELRAD frequencies of 640 and 1240 kHz marked on their tuning dials.

AM = American Music
FM = Foreign Music

Film canister (for lack of a better word). Also good for raising up stereo components. The rubber feet of the various components usually fit quite nicely in the black part of the canister.

My wife got a senior discount at McDonalds well before she was a senior. When she found out she wasn't happy and said the discount wasn't worth it!

I used to have a home darkroom as a teen, and had dozens of those empty 35mm film shipping containers since I didn't need to send them to the photo developing place.

Also, I used a church key bottle/can opener to pop the end off of the 35mm film cartridge to get the negatives out.....
