I did buy some 45s early on, when I was 12 and 13. But then I graduated to LP albums.

Patty, a girl I had a crush on, had a father who owned the music store in town. She worked there. So, singles were a better option for me since it gave me an excuse to go in there more often. Priorities!

I remember the walk home from elementary school was long. We rode the school bus, which wound through our town and part of the neighboring town to finally drop us off at the last stop. Just now I went on Google Maps to see just how long a walk it was from the school to home taking the shortest road route. It's just under 1 mile. About 5000 ft. Wifey and I walk a mile and a half most days. Hard to believe that walk from school was actually that short.

Are those 45 RPM or 78 RPM records? They are missing the large center spindle hole if they are 45's.....

I was working at a full service gas station on the Trans-Canada Hwy. It was just a small station with six pumps. I worked there after school everyday along with Sat. and Sun. every other week. I was the only person working from about 4:30 to 10pm weeknights and had to balance the till at the end of the night. No uniform required... thankfully.

Probably 45’s. I can see punch-outs that would leave a typical 45 hole.

Speaking of 78 RPM, what happens if you play Black Sabbath backwards at
78 RPM? 😳🤣

Great obseration. The photo appears to be 78s and not 45s. We use to play 78s too, mostly music from my parents. Some of it was okay, most of it was not. That's why I love the fact that both my kids love 50s and 60s music. I never loved my parent's music.

Here's a photo of the type of gadget I put on the record player to play 45s.
