Leave us to not forget programs on cassettes, and the enormous amount of time they took to load.

My first computer was a 286 running at 10MHz with a "Turbo" button for 20MHz. It had a HDD, which was not common at the time, a massive 20MB disk (nope, not a typo, 20 Megabytes)

This is what I used to load programs on the first computers I used in the workplace.

My high school had terminals with those tape feeds. Mainframe was in the other high school across town. No GUI or even a monitor. Just a fancy typewriter.
