Funny, my wife and I will be at the original Burger King for lunch today. Great burgers and shakes. I'm about 22.8 miles north.

...when you didn't have to worry about stuff like this for the great majority of your life.

I poked around the Bimmerpost facility a bit and didn't find a good place to share this information. But I did want to share it with some folks, so here it is.

A heads-up to anyone using Kaspersky for security/antivirus. I was using them, and the US State Department declared them untrustworthy a while ago, and there was an opportunity to switch to another provider. (I chose BitDefender.) Apparently some folks did nothing and are now discovering that UltraAV is being installed on their machines without warning, in place of the Kaspersky products. In my case, since I had already deleted all Kaspersky software, that did not happen; however they still decided that I was a subscriber to UltraAV, and were still planning to renew said subscription! Fortunately they gave warning, which allowed me to cancel it.

Interesting. We ate there once a looong time ago when we first moved out here. We weren't impressed and never went back. The place stays in business, so I guess the food can't be too bad.

Definitely not fine dining. But IMO better burgers and shakes than the national chains. Don't know about the fries since I'm not a fan of any.

You're not the only one:

"Inflation
The cost of dining out has increased by 25% since mid-2020, and 4% in the past year. This has led many consumers to cut back on eating out or drop it altogether.

Consumer behavior
Consumers are being more mindful of where they spend their money. They are also cooking more meals at home to save money.

Promotional meal deals
Fast-food chains have introduced promotional meal deals to lure back customers, but these deals have not been very effective. Many consumers are trading down from a medium fry to a small fry.

Supply chain disruptions
Factors such as wartime, supply chain disruptions, adverse weather conditions, and severe drought have affected the quality and total crop yield of potatoes.

Lamb Weston, one of the largest producers of french fries in North America, has been affected by these factors. The company closed a production plant in Washington State and laid off nearly 400 employees."

More Cub Scouts stuff

Hail, hail, the gang's all here,
Never mind the weather, here we are together;
Hail, hail, the gang's all here,
Sure we're glad that you're here, too!
Hail, hail, the gang's all here,
We're a bunch of live ones, not a single dead one;
Hail, hail, the gang's all here,
Sure I'm glad that I'm here, too!

Why do seniors go to bed early?

So they can dream about the good old days.

I was carded the other day and I was handing my ID over and he said “Ana not needed I see your BDay year starts with a 1”. I laughed cause not 2 weeks earlier I saw a YouTube reel with a comedian joking about the same thing and thought yeah that’s funny and now it’s happened to me.

I'll be hitting the hay in a couple hours. Up at 4:30 tomorrow, which is a little earlier than usual. It doesn't matter what time I go to sleep, I'm up no later than 6:00 with or without alarm. I can't remember the last time I slept until 8:30. Probably sometime around 1990, pre-kids...
That said, I can nap with the best of em!

I’ve always gone to bed late. Just the way I am. Even when I was working I still went to bed around midnight and got up at 5 AM. Night owl. 🦉
