After pouring half litre of Brigg's own oil into the engine and only using 99 RON gas as i use in my M I wouldn't change it for all the tea in China.
Oh, I have a Classic Sears Craftsman 21" mower with one of the last Techumseh pressure-lubed vertical-shaft engines. The electric mower was for the short hill in front of my house to lower the noise level when my wife is out on the porch. I thought I'd try an electric "bundle" of a mower and chainsaw. Replacement batteries are $200. That's like 3 years worth of gasoline here in the 'States. Lol.

My original purpose for an electric saw was silence. My wife is one of the group of people who find difficulty with cutting trees, either for trimming or removal. The lite off of a gas saw brings questions and scorn. Electric brings happiness to me. It also makes it easier when just a few minutes is needed for saw work.

My 8'' mini chain saw is great while the two batteries are performing well and I'm impressed with their charge longevity, the easiness in adjusting the chain slack and topping up the little oil reservoir from the mini plastic bottle is easy without making a mess.
With the gas mower it's important to empty the tank of gas when you've finished not to leave any in it, I just keep it running until it is stops.

Ford cuts EV spending, updates launch schedule, including next-gen EV truck delay

Next generation F-150 Lightning is delayed for the second time. Poor grammar is the responsibility of the Detroit News...

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/bu...s/74884474007/

Ford Motor Co. said Wednesday it's cutting capital expenditures in electric vehicles, delaying the launch of its next-generation all-electric pickup truck set to launch in Tennessee and has changed plans for a forthcoming three-row SUV to be hybrid, not all-electric.

EV sales are growing, but it's at a slower rate than what the industry had expected as consumers remain hesitant to adopt the alternative powertrain. The Dearborn automaker says the new launch schedule will allow it to introduce the vehicles to be profitable within the first year, adopt advances in battery technology and ensure it can continue to sell vehicles under regulatory greenhouse-gas tailpipe emissions and fuel economy standards.

If you have bamboo shoots that are too close to your neighbours house this gadget is great for removing them then pouring poison into the open shoots. If the roots get to your neighbours house they could sue.

So, I can't figure out what environmental factors have caused both Briggs & Stratton branded 82V 2.0 amp-hour batteries to fail in the exact same fashion. I could see one failure as an anomaly, but both indicates I must not be treating the batteries correctly. The first battery when fully charged, one day just stopped delivering power. It was in the hand-held leaf blower I have as part of the electric trio I bought. The leaf blower is a high energy consuming machine and can drain the 2.0 amp-hour battery in a few minutes under full "throttle". The battery then failed to initiate charging in the charger. The battery would work in the mower until peak power was required and it would shut down. That was last spring 2023. I marked the battery so as to not confuse it with remaining good battery I had.

The 2nd battery failed this past Sunday in the exact same manner when I was using the chainsaw. A few months ago, I bought a 4 amp-hour battery to replace the 1st failed 2-amper. Now, both 2-ampers are dead. I think the electric stuff is 4 years old this year.

I have a count of 15 ICE-powered lawn care machines, some, like my generator, are over 20 years old and run like the champs they are. My experience is gasoline has a low failure rate*. Batteries... not so much

* I leave the topic of E10 gas in the US alone.

He is having an issue installing a Tesla Powerwall to store electricity generated from solar.

I'm not sure this collapses the EV automotive market.

Car and Driver reveals 2024 EV of the year. Cybertruck scored a zero because it bricked itself on Day 2 of testing.

Edit: this is meant as satire, and hopefully something we can all point at and laugh.

The most amazing part about this is that explorer EV was basically done. EVs are selling so poorly it's a better decision to not try tomsell a product that's already been developed.

The other amazing part is that now theyre gonna do a hybrid explorer, which they had and cancelled. They actually had a PHEV Aviator (may or may not have been cancelled, not sure).

At least Ford has the sense to do this. GM is diving head first into the shallow end of the pool on EVs.

"...will cover 190 miles at 75 mph, then charge from 10 to 90 percent in 35 minutes..."

My E90 will cover 400 miles at 75 MPH and recharge in 5 minutes nearly anywhere in the US in any weather. Yup, I get it, Yeah, "but how often do I need that?" It doesn't matter, it can do it; that's the bar set.

If the market didn't need 400-miles with 5 minute recharging, manufacturers wouldn't make cars with the capability. That's what proEVmandaters don't understand, while they have adjusted to subpar performance levels of range and refill speed, most of the market still wants it.

The gas BMW wins the race before it's even started.

You didn’t read it. He can’t have a Tesla Power Wall in his garage. He can definitely definitely definitely have an EV charger.

I did read it and he can't have a solar powered battery inside or outside, it's a form of EV charging, he doesn't want the normal charger.

The Tesla Power Wall is a form of energy storage like a battery backup system. He can charge his car any time he wants with a Tesla charger or a Tesla adapter to a NEMA 14-50.

The Tesla Power Wall can be utilized by anyone even if they do not own a solar panel system OR an EV.

He should therefore wait until there's something in writing, not go on the say so of a Tesla worker.
