6 speed manual for me for autocross. The window sticker was $77,000 in 2010. Blue book puts the car at $55k. Internet price was $42k, I paid $34K OTD with taxes.
Hate on the roadster all you want... I damn near stole that car. |

Wow, you got a hell of a deal unless the car has a salvage title or something.

Good price .. odd selection for an autocross car though. It's not a very competitive car in the class it runs. Will be fun though if that's what you're after

My last autocross car was an NC MX-5 Miata so I am used to being in cars that aren't super competitive in their class. My entire thing for autoX is to go out and have fun... who cares if I win as long as I enjoyed myself. |

Although my buddy and I will be building a dedicated autocross car here pretty soon (E36 BMW 325IS). Time to stop with the 'fun runs'. |

I believe a work of Art is required for this.... I was waiting with baited breath for the Valentine's Day interpretation by Billup.....Total let down.

That's a decent deal indeed. Who cares if it's a girly car. My wife has a 135i and it's super girly, and I love driving it.

Porsche's history says otherwise. No offense though, as it takes a lot to make use of its potential. Everything on the car is designed for purpose.

There is no useful purpose for having the key on the left side of the wheel. Here in America we drive on the left, due to physics, the vast majority of drivers open their drive door with their left hand. One who doesn't want to scratch their car does so without their keys in the hand they are opening the door with. So your keys are in your right hand. Once in the car you have to transfer those keys to your left hand, but before or after you've put your seat belt on? Because your left hand is used to fasten that. If there were a Lemans start these days, the key on the right would be ideal so you could start the vehicle while fastening your seatbelt at the same time. There is no useful purpose for having the PDK shift controls being opposite of every other DCT type transmission, including their race cars. Any other vehicle shifts to a lower gear when you push the gear lever forward and upshifts when you pull the lever towards you. This includes all Porsche race cars. But their road cars is opposite of that? Really? Every other car i've seen uses a single parking light flash when the doors are locked and 2 flashes for unlock. Not Porsche, it's the opposite, and for no good purpose. That's the backwards stuff that gets really old, really quick when daily driving. There were however some additional issues i found to be idiotic as well. The Non Sport, Sport, Sport Plus modes are useless as well. Non sport is like driving a Prius in regards to how quickly it upshifts and downshifts. Sport mode does a better job of this, but also firms up the suspension to near unbearable stiffness and at the same time, won't allow the use of 7th gear unless you're doing more than 70mph. Sport Plus is for track use only. Won't shift until redline or until an obscene amount of time has passed without acceleration. Any of which require some additional input every time you get into the vehicle. There is no way to keep your settings. Don't get me started on the "give me a ticket" automatic rear spoiler. If the spoiler is up, your speeding. Awesome idea. PDK issues…. Every time you get in the vehicle after a stop the first shift from 1st to 2nd has about a full second lag in shift time. It's such a long shift that if shifting within 1000 revs from red line, the revs go to limiter and the power is cut to the motor. Then goes back to normal as subsequent shifts from 1st to 2nd are smooth and fast. The next time you turn the car off and restart it it will repeat. Don't get me wrong, love to drive it for a track day and always lovely to look at; just not so much for a daily driver. As a daily it just drove me nuts. If i sound bitter, it's because i thought i'd fall in love with that car and instead it's pushed me off of owning a Porsche ever again. I say ever again because as you said, Porsche's history isn't actually ever going to be history.
