So I’m just going to finish my book.
Is B the one in Mississippi, lives in a quiet out of the way place and likes horses?

Although I love being married 99% of the time, I wish I had Sara problems.
Dating sounds fun for about 5 minutes. Actually, "dating" sounds horrible maybe its the proposition of pee-pee touching that sounds exciting

I seem to have a thing for pilots now that I think about it.
I met a woman pilot LTA via a dating agency in a group meet at restaurant bar, seems quite a few are registered with them.

Sincere question: Do you feel the same obligation to have personality, be interesting, and keep someone's attention? Or do you take the 'sit back and let it come to me' approach?

That's all very well.. there can be shy guys that may come across wrong at first but would make perfect partners in the long term, some motor mouths may be impressive for a while and in the end it comes down to that look, touch and trust.
A shy guy with an expressive woman may not be an obvious choice but stranger things have happened.

If you're not willing to put effort into B and C then why even keep them on the radar? I know you've just been through a very traumatic situation, but at the end of the day people make time for the things they want to make time for. If you're not putting any effort into those people then that's an indication that you're not interested.

That's manipulative in my mind. You've already said you're not interested. If you're not genuinely interested, don't waste his time or yours.

Even if dating doesn't work out, then nothing wrong with having him (B) as one of my guy friends.
So you are interested in B to some degree after all?

Gotcha.

So basically the gist is this: You met up with A, who had B and C in tow. Everyone disperses, and you decide that you like A. You initially have less interest in B and C than A, but you have now been pursued by all so you are allowing A, B, and C a chance with you. You also have D that you have an interest in. A is currently the front runner of the ABC group, and is currently tied with D as far as your interest is concerned. Your interest in all of them is of varying levels. You also have E in the picture (Mississippi person) that you have had 11+ dates with.

Does that about sum it up?

I have to take Saras side on this. As far as we know, she has not expressed exclusivity to anyone. Therefor she is free to date any and all the guys she wants.
However, as a society we tend to think its OK for guys and maybe not for girls.

The only sketchy part about this is that these guys are in the same circle or friends. I would say to make it completely clean, if she offered to pay her own way for lunch then there is no manipulation implied or not to a lunch date.
