Unfortunately it did, and I didn't have the proper time get around and over there. They linger on the back side of my grandparents house where I was visiting and that was my best opportunity to nab a couple of shots.

I can seriously respect the commitment y'all have to photography, and I definitely am getting used to the digital age (where the number of shots is no longer a concern). I believe I'll be shooting more and more each time I go out with a camera and taking more "risks" with settings. Some of it is comfort and ensuring I don't miss the moment altogether, but even my confidence there has grown significantly with just a few sessions with the new camera. I hadn't the slightest idea how many shots you guys actually were taking out there, and that figure I'm sure is not entirely representative of how much goes into others work here as well. I'll be pumping more photos out even just knowing that!

Part of it is technique, but a big part is being there and taking full advantage of a subject when it presents itself. You're not shooting film anymore, so there's no real reason to hold back on taking shots, but only process the good ones.

In wildlife, most of us don't do much post production. We'll do our basic Raw conversion, crop and run with it. Once in a blue moon I'll clone something out.
I can't say that I have the wildlife opportunity at all times where I currently live, but there are definitely opportunities to get out and shoot. Part of my recent purchase is in effort to get out more and really get behind the camera (we would say the same thing about guns for the military) it's the only way to improve. I can't imagine right now taking 16,000 single shots of a turkey in one morning! But I believe it 100%. I'll be using those continuous shooting modes more frequently than I imagined it seems!

I can't thank you enough for advising me in so far, you're encouraging me more and more to dive deeper into this and I truly appreciate it.

Here's another nature shot I felt came out alright. I did some editing, but didn't crop this one down as I don't feel there's a lot of dead space and it takes away from the overall aspect of the subjects positioning. C&C as always.

Another good attempt Shane, but it's hard to see the frog, unless you look at the image full-screen, over on Flickr. You've got plenty of pixels there, so I'd crop it down by around 50% and put the frog right in the center.

Just keep at it. Be more and more self-critical and shoot more and more and you'll see improvement.

Mark, great colors and textures.

Is that sensor full-frame or crop?

Crop. 1" sensor. Same as the G5x. The difference between the two is the VF on the G5x. There are certainly times when I wish I had one, but the ability to slip the G7x in my pants pocket means I have it with me a lot.

Trying to get back into the swing of things. Feel like I'm lacking.
Might just need to go somewhere new instead of taking the same image over and over.

My first foray into astophotography. Conditions were less than ideal with a significant amount of light pollution:

Two shot panorama taken with the G7x. Photoshop still amazes me with what it can do with pano shots. The two originals are below.

I didn't know PS could merge two extremely angled photos like that. Incredible.

I used the upright correction tools first and then merged them. I'm still amazed it could be done at all, though.

Great shots lately guys, and nice variety too.

The B-17 is going to be flying around here this weekend. I'm trying to figure the best place to grab a few shots.
