Is that when it started production, or finished? The whole process takes about a week.

It was completed on the 7th so guessing it may have been started before the 4th..

I think I am in the same situation as you scott. When I got my vin, I ran it on BMW vin decoder and it said production date 2016-07-12. Does that mean it was started on the 12th of July or finished on the 12th? Like you, it's been stuck at the plant and hasn't been shipped out to Bremerhaven to be put on a boat...

same deal here, finished production on 7/8 and have been stuck since then. I still don't know if it is / was the diff or what. They have given me multiple reasons including Diff hold, Engineering data, CARB/ETA cert and quality check..

My CA texted me yesterday that the hold has been lifted (per a new bulletin) and now my car should be released with the diff repair to be done at VPC. I don't understand though, it sat there for more than a month after completion and now they are going to repair it at the VPC.

My manager told me yesterday(saturday) there was a new bulletin saying that the parts had arrived to the port(Newark) and hopefully the car should be at the dealer within 2 weeks. But I've learned to not get my hopes up because of how this has been going.

I would guess yours completed on the 12th as mine went into production around the 4th and was completed by the 7th..

All I know is that my date keeps slipping

Just got off the phone with the Genius. Apparently the status was just updated today with the work order being complete. No date for being sent to PCD yet, but sounds like progress. Hoping to get a delivery date for next week.

ED dropoff was 7/4 and my car has been at the VPC since 8/2. My 3rd new projected delivery date is 9/4. Not sure when to believe the dates... 8/6, 8/14 and now 9/4

I've been given four dates for my M2 that didn't pan out, now onto the 5th.

Thankfully this time the differential is actually at the dealer, just waiting for the missing bolts, so it should actually pan out.

I am in the same boat. Car has been sitting in Munich since being completed on 7/12 with no status update since. I just got off the phone with one of Jess' people who was investigating and have been told mid-October as updated delivery timeframe. I told him I was going to cancel but he offered me a $1500 credit not to. Even despite this credit, I have to say, they have been super responsive about following up. Shouldn't have required me to reach out to initiate though which is the annoying part...

Just got email from my sales guy saying my vin wasn't affected with the differential issue but he's continuing to look into why it's being held back at the plant

You have the same production date as me. Sure hope mine isn't going to be delivered somewhere in mid October

I'm keeping my fingers crossed late September...

Mid October?? I am assuming that is a delivery to the US which takes quite a bit longer but still October is a long wait.

I have to admit if they tell me October I will be considering my options as I am not waiting that long.

Total nightmare. I cancelled my order.. Leaving at 730 am to go pick up my new SO M4 in Minneapolis tomorrow morning. Got lucky and found one exactly how I wanted it. About a 5 hour drive each way. My original dealership in Chicago is trying to keep my $3k that I put down to order my M4 I just cancelled. Lawyer will be contacting them. Biggest bunch of assholes I've ever seen. They still had no date or part for me, but I'm not supposed to cancel and get my money back?

For folks like me who did Euro delivery, my question is, how does the 1200 mile service factor in?

My car had 1100 miles when I dropped it off in Munich. I was assuming that the 1200 mile service would be done at my dealership when it was redelivered, but now it's got a new diff.
