Alfa's do have that problem. I could put up with the reliability if they had a good loaner program but I have read too many reports of owners being given fiats and chryslers, not Alfas, as loaners. Since I would anticipate being in the shop given the reliability reviews, the lack of Alfa loaners would turn me off.
Depends on how the dealership is connected. My local 3 dealers give you a Maserati or Alfa as a loaner because they are Alfa/Maserati dealers. The ones that are connected to Fiat/Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler may be ran differently.

So far a few of my friends/co-workers with Alfa's have been happy and trouble free, one even has 80k on his Giulia Ti, of course though YMMV.

Hey guys, have an update. Just put a down payment on the model we were after in PA for MSRP at 1.9% finance so I'm pretty pumped. Appreciate the helpful comments and helping me stick to not paying over MSRP! Now I just need to figure out how to get it here lmao, open to shipping recommendations.

Happy new year!!

I am, for myself.....which is why when I was shopping I passed on the Guilia and ended up in my Genesis.

This is my brother in laws purchase and it'll be 1 of 4 cars in their stable. It's HIS money, not mine!! I'm in town for the holidays and happen to get extraordinary deals on my car purchases. I'm the advisor here and not the buyer! Lol.

I was trying to talk him into a Model X......which he can partially write off as a business expense due to it's weight. No dice!

Congrats. The dealer will be able to help ship it. They work with shippers on a regular basis.. unless you want it fully enclosed etc.

I would also take the Genesis, there is no question. My wife really wants this G70 and I think I am about to pull the trigger.

I LOVED my Genesis. I had 2 of them. Your not going to be disappointed if you go that route. Just got rid of my 2016 Genny a couple of months ago. I wanted to be payment free for awhile. I bought the E93 and a 1995 Lexus LS400 (1 owner with 140k miles and its pristine) to replace it. I miss it almost daily....just not the payments.

I’ve used uShip to move a couple cars recently from the South to New England. I had good experiences with the process both times. No matter what, wait a few days and you’ll see the cost of shipping drop precipitously.

Congrats!

Markup of 5k and having to fly in and drive 10 hours almost feels like when the F8X first released. Geez. Hype must be real for this thing but I can't personally get over the markup for a Kia... just thought that going Kia would save people money

OP good move on not paying MSRP for this thing. Did you end up getting it for MSRP?

Right the hype is ridiculous. Dealer was saying they had a few customers that had to sell their telluride back due to loss of work because of the whole Covid stuff. He said they've been selling at MSRP with around 10k miles on them.

We did get it for MSRP, no Mark-up. Trip was completely worth not paying the ridiculous mark-up that others dealers were looking for. Hitting some traffic right this minute, but overall the car is handling and driving quite nicely!

I had a chance to check out both the Palisade and the Telluride. Both very very solid vehicles for the price, I would argue the best products from both Hyundai and Kia. The Palisade to me seemed more luxurious and the Telluride seemed significantly better looking outside. Ultimately, the Hyundai seemed like a better deal because the KIA had an ADM... but 47k for an AWD model to me seems a bit much to pay for either a Kia or Hyundai. The major issue becomes when a 2 year old CPO X5 is available for similar money and in the X5 you get a much better engine, tranny, suspension... outside of that, these are very solid vehicles.

I hear ya, I thought about that route as well. Boiled down to longer warranty on a brand new vehicle, and I would assume the x5 would be more prone to issues down the road. Would also be the more expensive of the two to repair once warranty expires. X5 is also the smaller of the two vehicles, believe the telluride beats it in cargo space by around 10 cubic feet.

Problem we had with the Palisade is in order to get one aesthetically appealing enough for us we would have to get the calligraphy edition which prices out close to 50k. Still pumped about the deal we were able to get on the Telluride! Saved a solid chunk of money coming north, just cost some time.

If you think that THOSE are the best the brands have to offer wait until you lay eyes AND hands on the Genesis GV80!! It's going to rock your world my friend. Absolutely the most stunning SUV I've laid eyes on both inside and out IMO. If I were looking for a big SUV that would be it.

I saw the gv80... while its nice, the price point does not work for me given the price point. These suv's are 75-80k... and the rear end has buick levels of asthetics... this vehicle will not he remotely as successful as people think... the palisade and telluride are massive succesess due to the price.

Like all things in life.....time will tell. $49k is indeed the base price and the base model is loaded. $65k is the MSRP on the fully loaded 3.5T Advanced models. Once the new wears off and the crazies have left the building paying whatever the dealer mark up is.....we'll see. I agree though, they probably won't be as successful as people think. From MY vantage point they're going to be much more successful then people think!

I'm with you- this is a mass market KIA. I'd have problems paying MSRP for it...much less 5K over. But I'm of the generation who grew up with Kia was the modern version of Yugo.
