My wife already hates our X7 because you can not manually input an address, the video turns are weird. But unfortunately its still the best full 3 row SUV...

It's a similar thing with almost all cars, the changes from cost cutting, follow the next guy to zero originality, and forcing all the unneeded tech, has turned me off from practically all cars. I like advancement and updates but I do not want expensive complicated stuff, like that multi function tailgate on GM trucks. Why?!?! it costs more and is useless 99.99% of the time, but they think its buzz cool enough to get attention and sales.
Yeah the bugs were all software related... they've since been sorted out with OTA updates. I guess that's the good thing about software related issues - they usually just go away with updates. I was also hit with a bunch of bugs in the first month of ownership, but since then I've had 5k trouble free miles.

I'm a little confused about not being able to manually input an address - you should be able to. I know I've done it on occasion if it's an obscure sounding street name that the voice recognition isn't able to pick up on, but generally the voice recognition is very good. As for the video turns, are you talking about the augmented reality? Those can be turned off in the settings.

All this being said I totally get your point. Some of the "advancements" definitely feel forced (like the augmented reality... I think AR has amazing potential, but the way it's integrated into the X7 makes it kind of useless).

Starting with iD7 going straight to input address was removed, after so many failures of voice rec I think you can manually search for something, but manually inputting an entire address is gone, perhaps its back in iD8? I didn't find it it the loaner.

Wife even though younger is not big on apps, connected drive, android auto stuff in cars.... I can't imagine older people getting into the new high tech cars, they will keep old ICE cars alive.

I'm stuck in the past.
I won't buy any over-assisted , automatic, underpower, boring car.
I'm not disable enough yet

So makes 99% of the cars now... sad.
Few enthusiast car are coming back tho, like the Z, supra, golf, porsche, etc. But nothing like a practical daily : E61 N54 6mt, or V70R, or RS4/s4 Avant 6mt, cayenne gts 6mt, or even E91 and legacy.

If I had to hate a sportier popular car, would be the S3: small, unpractical, not so powerful, blend look, automatic. This is the most ''poser'' car ever to have a S audi badge on your instagram.

What are you going to do in 5 years when the only options are CUV, SUV, or Truck? LOL Eventually every small medium sedan or 2 door will be transformed into a CUV....sad

It's getting tough to determine what is a CUV or SUV. X3/5/7 SUV? X1/2/4/6 CUV? I still want a BMW wagon someday before they die off.

I'm pretty sure sedans are still popular and profitable for the likes of BMW and Mercedes. And other luxury brands (besides Cadillac) have already announced their sedans will at least have next generations.

My worry is more the existence of ICE sport sedans. The M3 may be the last holdout on that front.

Tell ya what, our telluride is awesome. Best bang for your buck large suv hands down. About to crack 40k miles, no issues. Is it exciting, hell no. Do I need it to be since it’s for my wife and kid, hell no. Great car though.

Before the pandemic is when we considered the Telluride/Palisades and loaded it was low 40s then leases were 5-600, never got to test drive one, it seemed nice, the Palisades is nicer and has options you couldn't get in the Telluride. My problem is every Kia/Hyundai dealer (about 10) I went to or spoke to was old school douchbaggery, even before the pandemic. Idiots working there and shady tactics, it completely turned me off the brands forever.

Huge bodies on those cars, totally agree, would never own one but very popular. Curious what the driving experience is like on the hellcat/demons though.

Not arguing that. We got ours for MSRP - $41k at 1.9% for an EX just the way we wanted. I’m not paying mark up haha.

When BMW doesn't sell what I want, I normally buy used. On the other hand, I picked up a new G30 in June and love it. 540i RWD. Very sweet, non-crossover.

I think many people on this forum would buy a BMW wagon if BMW would import them to the US. I pester my dealer at least once per year. Two years ago I begged for the M3 Touring. He said it will never happen. This January I begged for a G61, and he said we'll see. We are all fairly certain to see the G99, which is the M5 Touring. I would really prefer a 540i touring, though -- I don't need a 650+ HP V8. The good news is that Audi and Mercedes both bring in their lower-powered versions of mid-series wagons (E450 and A6 Allroad), so perhaps that will encourage BMW to bring us a G61.

Typically any SUV though the X5/6 M do look nice and the GLC63 (those wide tires)

otherwise, anything electric, anything CVT and pretty much anything German that doesn't have a Porsche symbol.
I'm a poser.

Never had a desire for Challengers until recent. They have an attitude and charm that's undeniable. But yeah agree I'd never get one unless I won the lottery, would get it as a 5th car loll.

Nobody buys a Wrangler for smooth sailing down the road. However, I hear ya about the tire noise but my Sahara is on stock wheels/tires so it’s not as bad as the aftermarket setups.

Even utility wise I don't see the benefit of a wrangler over an actual pickup truck. A truck can haul more, tow more and overall be a more modern/better vehicle. So really the only reason to buy a jeep is you're about that "lifestyle" or maybe in some edge cases of real off roading rock climbing stuff (don't know anything about that, but I think they are popular in that group).

I've never owned one, but have been in a few that family members have owned and I think they can look cool, but that's about it for me.
A pickup truck wouldn’t work for our lifestyle as we have 3 dogs and eight (8) hedgehogs and a 16 year old son we bring with us camping, along with his GF at times. Plus, removing the doors/hardtop while taking a cruise on Daytona Beach isn’t that bad.

I'll give you the top and doors, definitely can't remove those from most pickups, but I'm having a hard time picturing how all that would fit better in a jeep though? I have had the unfortunate experience of riding in the back seat of a Jeep... I still remember that horrible day. My F150 had a TON of space in the back seats, I would say more than most sedans and SUVs.

Dogs/hoglets ride in the back of the jeep as in a pickup, wouldn’t be an option to let them ride on a pickup bed.
