I'm predicting RIC finishes in the16th spot...he beats both Alfa Romeo cars, one Williams, and one Haas. The AT04 is a terribly slow car...not his fault.

I don’t think anyone will touch a zero pod design. It apparently works but the overall car design has to be near perfect which requires time and money - something not possible with the cost cap. If there was no cost cap, we would have likely seen both RB and Mercedes with that design.

With the qualifying format this weekend requiring hards for Q1, mediums for Q2, and softs for Q3 being implemented, it's going to be difficult for the AT04's (and the other backmarkers) to advance out of the first session.

Yes .Currently Piastri ran the fastest lap in FP1 (before the rain) , and Checo crashed badly by a stupid beginners mistake (in his first lap)!
By Checo's crash the red flag was a fact and the first rain drops fell at the track.

The faces from Horner and Helmut looked like a thunderstorm !

What do you think will happen:
1. Checo will be demoted to an Alpha Tauri seat and gets either replaced by RIC or TSU (whichever performs best)
2. Checo will be demoted to an Alpha Tauri seat but passes for that and sits his last year paid on the bench.
3. Checo won't be offered any seat anymore, TSU or RIC gets his seat and the free AT seat goes to Liam Lawson.

I think the last one. There's no reason to invest in a driver that won't return in F1.
A young driver like Liam Lawson will be a better investment.

That's a good question ...
I just read that Horner will speak with Checo ASAP. Horner said : I'm not amused by Checo's mistakes and lack of performance !
One thing is for sure : Checo fails big time in the last 5 races when he runs under pressure , the Mexican just can't handle the pressure .
Note : Today It's race number 6 in a row that Checo fails by a beginners mistake !
Checo's pressure is coming from MAX because MAX drives like a non-stop victory machine !
On the other hand : Don't see RIC performing well in a bad car , remember his (bad)! time in the bad McLaren .
Think this is RIC's last season in a F1 car ! And maybe Checo too !
So yeah . The Million Dollar question is : Who gets Checo's seat in 2024 ?
