It's like Tsunoda taking Checo's seat next year and immediately beating Max. Does that grant an increase in pay with about 10 million? |

If and when Perez, Tsunoda, Russell etal become the most successful driver of all time, yes, they can be equally greedy bastards and ask for oodles of money. In the meantime, keep on adding wins.

Ignoring Max, the race for second is the closest F1 has been in a long time

These reports are blown up, imo, just like all F1 news. Of course an agent is going to shop around for their client during contract negotiations. They need to know what he's worth on the market to make sure he gets a good enough contract. I don't think he had any intentions of leaving Merc. |

The entire field is the closest in racing and qualifying pace it ever has been in the history of F1. Jim Clark used to win races by 300-400 seconds...and MB never needed anything but average drivers to win for years on end due to having nearly 100 more hp than the next nearest car. Now that there is more balance of power and equalized budgets, it really shows who can develop vs who simply just spent the most to win in the past. The driver makes more of a difference now than has been the case for maybe decades. A small mistake could drop you 3-6 places in a race so I think that speaks to how close it is as well.

He doesn't have more championships than Sch, and part of the wins/podiums is due to him having more races (and about 40 less DNFs due to reliability) than just about anyone too. I don't think he is built like Alo - even Alo at times shows his age and Ham certainly is showing it more and more each year.

I forgot, where did Checo finish in the Formula One drivers championship?
Hating on the Mexican again. For the first time in a decade Alonso has not screwed the Pooch in ride choosing and you want him to jump ship? |

I don't even want to get into qualifying positions compared to Max but here are some of Checo's starts this year (20, 11, 12, 15, 16, 9, 7, 13, 9, 9, 12, 9). Those are absolutely horrendous starts in over half the races with a machine that was far superior to anything else on the road. He should have been in the top 4 qualifying spot at the very least for nearly every race this year. In F1 the best comparison to a driver's skill is his teammate, and Checo is so woefully inadequate compared to Max it's frightening. Fair on Alonso of course, but still want to see him in a real Championship contending car before the sun sets! |

RB19 is now officially the most dominate F1 car in history, it won 95.5% of races. Perez only managed to podium 41% of the races(9 of 22). The same car his teammate drove to 19 victories(86% of races). Horner clearly is blaming Perez's Saturday performances in that video. But he made some bonehead moves in races too. Suzuka race probably being the most embarrassing performance of the year. Last edited by M3WC; 11-28-2023 at 01:36 AM.. |

Future F1 move feeling more realistic with every test - O’Ward
The top 19 drivers in the Abu Dhabi test set their best times on the softest C5 compound, although there was a mixture of race drivers testing tires and rookies taking part across two programs. O’Ward went second to Esteban Ocon in the final hour of running and said he’s improving rapidly in F1 machinery, and feels that if the team sees the same progress then it might open doors if he’s successful in IndyCar. After completing over 100 laps, O’Ward said the track time has allowed him to really identify areas he can improve and work on immediately. https://racer.com/2023/11/28/future-...ry-test-oward/ Oh LooK, another Mexican in Formula One? |
