What if I live in Germany with a US spec M3?

EDIT: I just got a call from BMW in Munich to say that the recalls are WORLDWIDE. They're not limited to US market vehicles anymore.

Now, I'm not sure if it's specifically only the M3 that's worldwide, but the person on the phone referred to the Airbag recall and not my specific case, so I would assume so.
Since it's a worldwide recall now, just bring it to your local dealer. (I'm in the same boat as you.)

You'd get the new airbag internals, and maybe a new center cover (where the BMW emblem is), but that's it.
So on an e92 with 125k mileage, what other repairs make sense to add based on labor overlap? For example, in thinking of having my steering wheel angle sensor replaced bc if it craps out its a bitch to do, and if they are already taking everything apart for the airbags, it may be a good idea.

Any thoughts or opinions?

Let me know if anyone goes in for the airbag recall and also takes advantage of this to get an M Performance steering wheel installed at the same time. Wonder how the dealer will react to that request?

Same as all the Honda Takata recalls we have been doing. For some reason the airbags, if they deploy, do so with too much force. They honestly still don't know why this is happening.

Looks like both my cars are affected by this new recall.

Interesting that the recall may be assembly location related? Just guessing but looks like X vehicles from South Carolina, and 3 series possibly from Regensburg factory? I have an 08 M3 Sedan that is affected and also a 2010 550i that isn't on the list. I think the 550 was built in Dingolfing. Maybe BMW uses different airbag suppliers, or maybe they just didn't get around to recalling the 5 series yet?

My car just showed up in the system. What if I have an accident and the air bag kills me?

My car showed up in the system as well (E92 335). Below you can read what it says.

Last Updated: February 12, 2015

DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM
During air bag deployment in an accident, the driver-side front air bag module may produce excessive internal pressure that could cause the inflator to rupture.

SAFETY RISK
Inflator rupture could result in metal fragments striking the driver or other passengers, potentially resulting in serious injury or death.

DESCRIPTION OF REPAIR
Your BMW center will replace the driver-side front air bag module. However, due to the large volume of new inflators needed to repair vehicles, the necessary parts will not be immediately available. As a result, owners of affected vehicles will be informed of the recall in an initial notification letter. Once replacement parts become available BMW will send another notification letter to owners, beginning with older model year vehicles located in BMW's previously defined HAH (High Absolute Humidity) region and expanding accordingly as more parts become available.

A "Thank you for your patience."

They ought to extend everyone's warranty a year or two.

Why would they do that?

Free oil changes for life. Well, not for you, but one of your loved ones.
