Chas may even need a new g/box for a rear hit but the points are tomorrow and more chance of rain than today. Checo was lucky he banked that quick lap before Chas over-cooked it again.

He should have went in head first to avoid gearbox problems. Thought he would have learned that lesson by now.

Good news is, Max can learn from this, bank the lap even if you mess up. I'm sure this mistake won't happen again.

Next time they'll probably keep him out to complete lap before coming back in.

He came in to get new soft after the minor mistake.

Plus tomorrow, first few corners will be interesting.

Looking at the starting grid position, I would be extremely surprised if VER does not make it back up the grid to at least compete for a podium. So starting P9 isn't really an issue, might have to "work" a bit but the RB19 should be able to get back up there with ease.

Max has clearly more pace than anyone starting in front of him in a single lap and race pace will be able to cut through and pass with the way the car could handle and the DRS zones.

Yup. Anyone that says otherwise or saying it's going to be a "challenge" is clearly kidding themselves and downplaying the RB19's sheer dominance. By lap 15-20, if not sooner, I expect to see VER up there unless we get some sort of safety car with it being a s--ty street circuit and all. It's not a matter of if but when.

Max will make his way up to second if not pass Dorito for the win.

LOL. Hamilton, 7 time WDC, being booted out of Q2 and beaten by his 0 WDC team mate is much worse. Max was simply unlucky that Le Clerc crashed, as some of the other drivers. I really don't want to believe even you don't realize that.

IMHO it's wrong to blame Leclerc for crashing in Q3. Drivers flirt with driving limits. If it works, all power and glory to them. If it fails - they tried to get P1. No clear error or reckless driving by Leclerc here - no, just a fraction over the adherence limit. OK, teams hate crashes as there are expensive repair bills to be footed, but it's the price to be paid for achieving success at the top. No pain, no gain.

Tough audience to judge only by results.

Verstappen has clocked the fastest lap time of all qualies (1:26:814 in Q2), overstepped on first attempt in Q3 but didn't crash. Subsequently a strategy mistake by him or his team to stay too long inside the pit garage: gamble (no yellow/red flags) and you can lose.

Thanks to Leclerc's crash, the slippery circuit tarmac, gusty Miami winds and heavy cars at the beginning (fuel load) we are set for an interesting race. Especially if Alonso (P2) would manage to pass Perez and back him up in the early stage of the race (otherwise Perez is gone). Verstappen (P9) and Hamilton (P13) are required to take risks in rowing through the pack. Those three got WDC titles - they got the required skills to live up to those expectations. Not 'just another day at the office' during this F1 Miami race. They got to show being worth their salt.

If it rains it's gonna be yellow and red flags.

Sadly, there is only a 7% chance of rain by the 4:00 PM start time.

But I guess we won’t need rain to make this an interesting race.

I agree my friend

On the other hand ,
MAX has in front of him :

1- Ocon (A piece of s**t)
2- The Russell boy (A triple dive-bomb in a Merc flame thrower)
3- Charlie (AKA LeCrash, is a non-stop crasher at this track)

1&2 will run with the elbows wide open and close all the doors to the front.
MAX will lose a lot of crucial time behind them .

I'll put all my hope on yellow flags and the SC ...
This Miami race is actually a kind of American lottery !
