Kukoc.
And I am old enough to have seen all three of them live and close up. They are all jaw dropping talents. But the truth is MJ.... Kobe always had it, and LJ now has it- the killer instinct. But nobody could kill you like MJ. Kobe approached MJ in that fire in the belly stuff. But MJ? His first step? quicker than any. Ever. He broke more ankles than anybody in the "modern" era will, combined. Just too bad that he can't stop mouthing off. It's that deep competitiveness that made him so great... He wants back in the game so bad and it's over and he knows it. Just shows you, boys.... money ain't buyin you happiness, no matter how hard you convince yourself it can.

i consider the crossovers and double crossovers as "first steps".... and lets not forget how Iverson crossed Jordan's ass up back when AI was a rook.... AI made Jordan look like a child.......can't even imagine what Bron would do to him..... |

6'8" 275lb basketball players shouldn't be able to do these things.....
making passes like elite PG's and hitting 17 foot fadeaway jumpers OVER the backboard.... |

Lebron would be begging the refs for a flagrant foul if that happened today.

Neither Kobe nor Lebron are in the slightest bit compelling to me, a non-NBA fan. MJ was. Period. I would seek out Bulls games just to see what he would do and how. I don't know enough to guess who would win in the 1-on-1 battles, but in the battle for NBA-transcendent attention, MJ had me rivited.

Karl Malone could easily throw his elbow into a 210lb 6'6" MJ, but he would think more than twice to do it to a 6'8" 275lb Bron..... you ever seen Malone stick his forearms or elbows into Charles Oakley or Derrick Coleman !?!? HELL NO !!!! |

Karl Malone was 6'9 265 pounds himself, he would have no problem hand checking Lebron. He was one of the most physical defenders of his time. If Lebron couldn't physically man handle Kevin Garnett whenever LBJ had to face the Celtics, I highly doubt he could man handle a much stronger, and physical guy like Malone who actually played in the "hard as f***" era.
I don't know how Lebron would have played during the hand checking era of hard nosed 1 on 1 defense, but I do know that Lebron acts like a $10 blow up doll caught in a hurricane when guys like JR Smith (all 210 pounds of him) barely nudge him going for a loose ball.

MJ is the greatest of all time! But I would take Lebron over MJ in a 1 on 1 game. I would take Shaq over MJ in a 1 on 1 game. Shaq could just back down MJ every time. But again, MJ is the greatest basketball player that ever lived.

Bron is 6'8 275lbs.....
and it would be impossible for Malone to hand check Bron. Bron's first step is as good or better than ANY basketball player ever in the 80's or 90's.... combine Bron's first step with his athletic ability and brute power and Malone would get trucked..... lemme put it this way: imagine Malone guarding Charles Oakley, but Oakley has Jordan's quickness and the strength of Dwight Howard.... pfffft, Zack Randolph would give Malone fits, let alone a freaking specimen like Bron..... |

I'm adding that right under "Shaq hits 18 3-pointers in a single game" on the list of Things that never ever happened...

Here is the break down of the 3. I can't even fit Kobe in any of the categories.
Best closer: Jordan Best scorer: Jordan Best assister: Lebron Best rebounder: Lebron Best defender: Lebron Best athleticism: Lebron Best handler: Jordan |

Kobe owns LBJ.... He shit him down and made him cry in last years all star game....
MJ said in an interview... that LBJ would touch him in a 1 on 1 and Kobe might.... Cause he steals all MJs moves... |

LeBron is this era's Oscar Robertson...
Bron is a walking triple double. and like someone on SportsCenter said "LeBron is the most team first elite scorer this league has ever seen". meaning, Bron tries to make his team better at almost every opportunity that he doesn't have the ball, but he can also score at will like any elite scorer to grace the hardwood... |

Oscar is the triple double king.... You should put LBJ close to that feat.... Especially if his stats don't support it.... |
