A 4000lb + AWD hybrid Corvette is interesting to say the least but a necessary bridge to EV.
I also find amusing when people argue performance car aptitude based on 0-60 times. It's a necessary legacy metric because it appeals to ignorant masses, marketing sound bites, etc. No experienced track junky or accomplished high-performance driver cares about 0-60 when evaluating the merits of a sports car. It is a good reference point that speaks to traction from a dig but that's it. The extra weight of this thing is going to put it miles outside of the Z06 on a road course.

And that’s why the sheep love Tesla cause leaving a stoplight is all they care about.

yeah i dont get the 0-60 thing either. or straight line performance. its a weird thing bragging about how good you are at holding the wheel straight and putting your foot down. there is literally no skill involved with drag or roll racing. but somehow makes people feel like they are 'better' than the guy they just beat.

It is why the first thing you hear about any new super car, sports car, muscle car, etc is 0-60 times...especially in this day and age of so many sub 4 second cars ...obviously it isn't the only thing people care about, but its the first indicator of how fast the car is...people don't care what the top speed is, cuz they'll never get anywhere near it anyway. They want to know how fast the car is, not how fast can it go Track rats don't care about 0-60 times true, but you bet they know what they are |

Do you see any Teslas on the track? If so how do they do from what you've seen? Seems like it would be a very affordable way to track a car when all you really got to worry about is tires |

There are so many more moving parts and fluids to replace, repair , replenish or worry about in an gas car, especially a tracked car compared to the simplicity of the EV's with their regenerative braking and one speed transmission Most people who race their cars are constantly working on their cars or modifying things... Teslas were never meant to be on a track however they aren’t terrible at it like most people think. The weight of an ev is detrimental to tires and brakes so if you were doing lap after lap as of right now a proper gas performance car is superior until they can reduce the weight of your average ev when battery tech improves. We live in America where it was all about red light to red light racing. That’s where the hp and 0-60 and drag times have become so popular. Teslas are amazing straight line performers and there’s no doubt about it. A model 3 performance will run a 11.6. Even a long range has been doing 12.1 or so with AB. Some people do like the appeal of having a silent missile for a daily as well as having it as a weekend toy too.

I plan on getting one as soon as it dropped. How much will the markup be on these things when it first comes out?

In 2025 when they come out, hopefully no markups. Lol. Chevy are the biggest clown going right now. So much hype for the 6 and barely any still out. Typical
