Before last year, I was stable around 170-175, benching 255-265-275 1RMs. Maybe 2 with a spot. That's my best ever. Varied depending on the day. Can't squat due to hip/knee issues. I was always inspired by another dude who competed in the Olympics for wrestling, my size, benched 405 with the strap thing around the elbows. All natural. I was like WTF?!!!! |

Not sure. But you'd never guess it. This dude was an adjunct professor at NYU and a hedge fund manager by day, haha! |

Deadlift: 435 lb
Back Squat: 335 lb Front Squat: 315 lb Bench: 300 lb Squat Clean: 300 lb Power Clean: 245 lb Clean and Jerk: 275 lb Power Snatch: 175 lb Snatch: 230 lb Current Body Weight: 225 lb All numbers have been achieved within the past 2 months. I'm starting to drop some weight and my max's are harder to maintain, except for my snatch. Actually just PR'd my snatch. Most likely due to form improving. |

I've done 455x3 on deadlift at the end of February (reset on every rep) and that's when I decided to try tap-n-go deadlifts and the carry over is great. Hit 495 for an easy single back in may (I've had it in me for a while but I go easy on 1rms), and today I hit 455x5. Well, technically it was 4.5 because halfway through the last rep the clip fell off and plates started falling off the barbell lol. But I would have locked it out. If things keep going this way, I should have 5.5 plates by end of year.
Best squat so far is 375, might try 385 this week depending on how I feel. Shoud hit 4 plates by end of year. Best bench is 260 a few months back. Trying to get to 275 this year. Body weight is 180-183. I'm on Wendler Beyond 531. |

The 5-3-1 method has always gotten me great results as well, but I tend to do a 5-3-2 since I lift by myself most days and if I shoot for 2, I know I can at least get 1. |

Bench - 345 raw, 385 with slingshot
Squat - 500 Deadlift - 515 Weight class: 198 lb. Unfortunately I completely torn my groin twice this past year (both times actually squatting believe it or not)... Once in December and again in April. Yeah it's been a rough couple months. #cry |

The ortho and I are not really sure. I was squatting pretty heavy both times though.
First time I was hitting 455 for a triple. First rep shot up pretty easily, second rep exploding out the bottom (I squat ATG) I heard a loud pop and immediately lost all my strength and the bar just dropped. Good thing I set the safety bars. I knew right away I fucked something up bad but my body was shocked so I was trying to walk it off hoping it wasn't anything bad. After 10-15 mins it got worst and I was sweating and a little light headed but ok... I knew I had to call it quits and head home. Good thing my brother was there training with me because I had him drive home (I have a 6 MT, clutch work was a no no lol.) As soon as I got home 30 mins later I couldn't move out of my bed/chair. Luckily I work in the medical industry so I saw my ortho and got my imagining done next morning (X-ray then MRI) that confirmed the worst - complete tear of adductor in groin/hip area. I opted for no surgery after several opinions and jumped back into squatting probably a bit too soon. Second time... Same thing happened and I knew right away.... This time it was a little bit lighter as I was still working up after my first tear but still was working with 4 plates on each side. Similar... 3 rep set - first rep shot up, second rep boom. Except this time I set the safety bars super low and the bar hit me so hard in the head on the drop (spotter had no chance to safe me) I almost had a concussion. Head had a nice bump and was bleeding a bit. The disappointment I had in myself was unexplainable... I was so upset just because it's such a mental thing.... But at the end of the day it is what it is... I probably won't be squatting at all for another few months this time around, I did just start training very light legs again 2 weeks ago (mostly accessory curls and "weak" shit lol) It's disappointing since I have such a passion for fitness/training/lifting and I went from squatting 2-3 times a weeks (for a few years) to not being able to really walk or train legs going on almost 8 months now. Who knows if I'll ever squat heavy again. Last edited by F30_SixSpeed; 06-27-2016 at 05:58 PM.. |

Wendler works wonders for lower body lifts, not as much for upper body (in my case). In order to get my squats up I need to ease off on deadlifts, so I'm now just doing a single AMRAP set of 75-85%. My bench has always been the worst lift that barely improves, but 3 weeks of Smolov Jr helps me put on about 10lbs to my 1rm. Gotta hop on that after the squatting 405. |

Very true that's cool. Seen my share of records clean and not set. Buddies kid that was 13 set American record for all 3 lifts and total at same meet. Another friend obviously not clean flirted with 800lb dead as junior.

When in college at 185lbs.
Bench Press Max 325 Back Squad Max 425 Power Clean Max 325 Typical workout included Benching with 105lbs dumbells Weighted dips using 100lbs plate. Today I weigh about 180 and still have decent strength but no interest in trying to beat my bests from 20+ yrs ago.
