Silva is big for GSP. GSP dominates middleweight partly because he is 190 when entering the cage. He walks around at this weight. Silva is 200+ walking into the cage in his fights. He walks around at 230!
So.......he will lose this size advantage IF he fights Silva. He will have to win by strategy (most likely staying out of the way of those knees and elbows of Silva) and skill. I don't think GSP could finish Silva (maybe catch him in an armbar but shit it's Silva) but I think Silva could knock out GSP. Who do I think will win? I would put my money on Silva but it would be a damn interesting fight. I hope GSP knocks out Jake Shields and does the Silva superfight fight at a 180lb. catch weight. It would give him the best chance at winning. Last edited by Htown09; 03-15-2011 at 12:44 AM.. |

^ Yeah, I would bet on GSP. Like people have said before, Silva is bigger, but the weight he walks around and the weight he can gain back in 24 hours is different. And I think GSP is the mastermind in game planning. Like he said, it's not who is the strongest or biggest guy, it's who executes their will and plan the best. GSP will never give into Silvas taunting and waving arms telling him to fight and get close.

this is a simple answer... if silva drops to gsps weight gsp will win... if gsp goes up to silvas weight silva will win
if they meet at catch weight... id bet my car on silva :P

I wouldn't bet on the fight happening anytime soon, Silva is fighting Okami in Brazil later this year.
It feels like GSP is buying time so that Silva passes his peak... I don't know how much he has left in him. I hate seeing a legend lose his legacy. |

Looks like Okami will get the next shot at Silva.

GSP will have to finish off Shields and Diaz first.

Once Silva beats Okami, there will be nobody left to fight in middleweight. GSP I can see fight against Diaz if he beats Shields. If he does win against both of em, there will be nobody left to fight for him as well......

^yea I remember that fight, I couldnt believe Silva was able to put so much power w/ such an awkward kick
the thing is, im sure GSP will fight Diaz after Shields. but thats only gonna further delay GSP vs Silva, which is what people really wanna see. specially while both are still in the peak of their career I will never doubt Silva but he is getting older and unless he is some freak of nature, he is bound to start slowing down |
